  • first time poster --just bought used gc2a, but no software

Hi all, after years of agonizing, finally bought a used gc2a, but with no software. I have a 14x16 room with 11 ft ceiling and want to make a simulator. At this stage, I don't have a net, screen or mat. I have a spare projector that I could use from an old home theater. Looking for any or all advice from those that have a simulator and any pitfalls to avoid. I am pretty eager to get going so I might buy the iPad app and a net of some sort just to get going.
    thanks,

I don't think forum rules allow us to say exactly but try mthunt's advice from earlier post.

Also for quick hitting and range i just look at the numbers on the unit and don't bother with the app. Why would you use the app?
Out of curiosity, does anyone know the actual cost to have Foresight upgrade a GC2 to GC2a (Apple version)?

I believe it's around $500. I spoke to a rep the other day and that was the ballpark he gave me.

            Hi,
Fairly new to the forum, and the info is of great help. after much debate, and having previously owned a Flightscope, I have decided to go with a GC2. Sim area is about 90% done. To run TGC on a new GC2, what must I have other than the pc? I know it has probably been answered... Sorry.

You'll need a bluetooth adapter for your PC if it doesn't have one already. That's it.

Thanks for this. I'm getting very close to pulling the trigger on a used one.

The market looks really tight right now as compared to the fall. There don't seem to be many available. Hopefully thing loosen up in the spring when some guys get outside and think about upgrading to Trackman.

Thanks goat. For me it's about accurate sim, and after looking through the forum and available options out there, it seems there are too many varying opinions on software/hardware. Any thoughts on Foresight not allowing integration of TGC or PG, etc in the future? Still not up to par on how it all works, and sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere on here.

Currently, I believe the consensus is that the GC2 is the most accurate hardware available for indoor use. Software is another issue, and is much harder to "prove" which is more accurate...ball flight algorithm, ground physics..etc.

Technically, there is no way to prevent this integration without you, yourself, manually trying to. What the future holds for prospective buyers trying to integration PG or TGC with GC2.

Hypothetically, say, if Foresight were to sue the crap out of everyone, I could see maybe no MORE/NEW people would be able to utilize this integration, but it wouldn't have an effect on anyone currently using it. That said with the biggest grain of salt possible, as I sit here in my cubicle practicing civil engineering.....

F'ing hilarious GoatBarn, yep, I've given up on finding anything better, and a launch monitor is what I want, not a sensor, so I've decide GC2 has to be it and especially after seeing the videos of it running with Perfect Golf, amazing!

Now to find a good used price and I'm all done, or actually just getting started with playing Sim Golf

That's great brett that you've made a decision. Good luck finding a used GC2 under $4500.

Don't bother, it's not worth it. You don't get anything extra from the apple version vs. the android stock version.

I tried Perfect Golf today. It was pretty dam good apart from the fact that since I upgraded from firmware 3.7 to 3.10 the spin numbers are too low for even wedge shots. Hoping the calibration tool will help!?

Yes definitely try and calibrate it. I went from 3.7 to 3.10 and calibrated and honestly did not see any difference in spin numbers. seem to be spot on
              Working...
