Advice on starting new GC2/HMT build

    So after all of you guys advice I made a few purchases. Ordered the GC2 and TGC. HQ screen from par-to-pro. Trustrike hitting mat. BenQ HT1085 1080p short throw.

    I haven't gotten around to purchasing any high speed cameras as I need to do some more research and build the simulator enclosure then see.

    This computer. I paid US$1490. Hopefully it's good enough.

    I didn't go for the HMT. Think I'll spend that $ on lessons and playing some good courses if ever stops raining in San Francisco!

        That computer will be awesome. Check with HP ASAP!!!....... I have never seen a GTX 980ti that will run on a 500 watt PSU. If your computer crashes, it's your PSU. If your PSU is too weak to power the video card, it will crash only on high demanding applications.....like TGC. I did some research before buying mine and found that 600 watts is usually the minimum. Some of them require 700 watts min. Send them a message before they ship it. PSU are a pain to change after.

        Most of the people commenting play TGC online. They have weekly tournaments. I have had TGC since Aug /15. It's fantastic.

            I will contact them as soon as they open. Funny when I went through the component selections when I clicked to upgrade the video card to the 980ti an error came up showing that the PSU was not compatible and that I needed their highest option, the 500 watt. I will tell them the concerns about crashing on high demand applications.

            If you mean one on one online play, it's easy but not a lot do. All TGC is actually online. It's cloud.

                Look under online events in this forum and then do the Q School to get aclaminated to the software and get a handicap then you can enter each event in the software. Instructions are in the online section.

                            Ya, it's killing me seeing all the rain in the bay area. My buddy and I are playing Pasatiempo, Spyglass, Pebble, Coredevalle and TPC Harding at the end of Feb/beginning of March. At least we have good rain gear if it's still pouring by the time we get there.

                            I play Perfect Golf online, been waiting eagerly for a TGC demo for a couple weeks now.

                                    If they would drop the price, (they won't), on the hmt to around 2500...I bet they would sell a ton more with the gc2..

                                    If you felt it necessary to upgrade the power supply, just buy a 600-750 watt for 50.-80.00 and slap it in...

                                        Nice purchases S-Murf-IRL ! Let me know how you like that Trustrike mat. I'm still deciding on a good mat to get. I really want something that runs all the way up to my net, something maybe 6'x10', but I also don't want to sacrifice quality.

                                            Will do. It's on back order until who knows when but I've ordered it. I'm guessing it may be because they're at the show. Even though I don't know how it is yet I would save save the extra few $ and go for quality.. I work in construction and I guess pretty handy (sigh) at making things so I made a go at my own. It's better than the concrete hitting mats at the range. Has one thick rough section and one fairway section with foam pads underneath and it's ok athough it's still not like taking a divot, more like chipping away at your bones everytime you hit a little fat. I will let you know the difference right away when I get mine
