Mario, you don't see the 2 GC2's because the shipper will only ship to the US - Note auction is for one (1) GC2 not for both. He has 2 for sale. It's a bit misleading.

The same way it works in a residential application, but with the users paying the owner for usage

Don't work like that..........TGC is not a commercial friendly application. That is why E6 is the preferred choice for commercial applications. OR Foresight software and courses.

I'd like Bubba22 the sim guru to comment on TGC's commercial application ability..........thanks

I would disagree at least a little....TGC isnt superior to Foresights fitting software. It isn't even superior to the Optishot in that regard. So the fitting software still has value IMO. And the course software is simple, local and self contained so for some that is worth something too...the "must be online, connected to servers, and download every course" idea in TGC is a big step backwards IMO. PG isn't any better...by the time you've got PG started and Steam going and the OGGT interface you're connected to half the ruddy world just to hit some balls. Lol

I wouldn't pay that price but i can see why someone might. However the listing doesn't provide any serial numbers afaics so the units may be quite old...

Edit: oops...this was supposed to be a comment on the above comments not a new post.

The foresight fitting app only display the numbers on the GC2. If anyone has this and I'm wrong please correct me or please confirm.

On the foresight website it shows flight path vertically and horizontally. Not the prettiest but it does the trick.

It kind of bugs me that for $50 it hasn't had an update since 2013. I don't have any android devices (as I only have a gc2) so I can't test it. If I did, I'd spend the money to see.

    Hi Everyone,

I'm actually the seller of the two GC2 units on eBay and have added some additional details regarding the history of the two units for anyone who might be interested...The short version is that I stumbled upon a driving range that was downsizing/going out of business a few years ago and have been selling off their units for them a few at a time. One of the gentlemen I sold two of the units to a little over a year ago was going to open up a golf shop, but decided not to so I bought them back. Back when I originally purchased them, I had them refurbished by Foresight (new batteries and flashes). Since the gentleman didn't use them for a year, the batteries are shot. Foresight recommends that you drain the battery at least once a month. I've tested both units and they work great (minus the battery, $80ish to replace)..Feel free to let me know if you would like any additional information...

According to my notes, the average last summer/fall was about $2300 for GC2 and $2830 for GC2a.

$2,300/$2,830? Holy sh!t! So used GC2's have almost doubled in price last 6+ months (even though the units are getting older)? This is like the private equity internet unicorns bubble...

Despite that I wished I would have bought a used GC2a at $2,830 instead of ST 10 months ago.

So wzjy47 , what would you consider a best offer? Some sort of bottom line price? Me personally, I would have no trouble working out a deal outside of ebay if you'd be willing to pass on the 10% ebay fee's you'd be saving.

I know this will piss off a few people who are honorable ebayers, but 10% on a high ticket item is worth it.

Also, would you ship to Canada?

I have a GC2, I'm throwing this out for those of you out there who might not want to or think to ask these questions. At the end of the day is up to the seller and do understand you are protected via paypal. Just request an invoice from the seller detailing what your buying and your golden.

No one won it, or it would appear if you do an advanced search and check the box for "sold" listings. This means that the listing was pulled before the auction ended.

It's pretty crazy that someone would pull it voluntarily at that point, as there was no question that he was going to get top dollar. I'm wondering if eBay caught the seller playing games (e.g. using shill bidders) and yoked him. It could explain the absolutely irrational bidding that we saw.

As I mentioned previously in the thread, it disappeared for a half day for me at one point a few days in and then magically reappeared. I searched multiple times from multiple machines and it was absolutely missing. I'm wondering if they pulled it once on him and he successfully appealed.

One way or the other, just as bids are binding on potential buyers, it's pretty shady to put up an auction without a reserve price and pull it from the leading bidder with less than 24 hours to go.

Something not quite right with this auction. I followed it pretty closely.

Price was bid up very quickly then sat unchanged for the last 5 days. Looking at the bid history there were 2 cancelled bids, both for practically the final sale price. One of these bids stood for 5 days and then was cancelled the day before the auction ended. Eventual buyer cancelled.

The item has already been relisted.

It's been relisted and you can 'buy it now for 4500'.
The last bid was 4525. Doesn't make sense. The seller pulled the listing before the end of the auction but now is content to sell it now for 4500. What gives? Anyone understand this.

Very simple to understand. The high end of the market is $4,500.

Seller did not pull the listing. The buyer cancelled because of the suspicious canceled bids that came to light after the bidding was won.

I would suggest that if you are satisfied with the legitimacy of the item being offered for sale, it might be worthwhile making a (lower) bid or offer.

The initial high bid up is actually pretty common.

All of the canceled bids, however, are a huge red flag.

I had a dude send me a PM when I sold my Skytrak basically accusing me of fraud because someone with zero feedback put in a bid for $1,300 very earn on in the auction (it eventually sold for almost $1,900). I told him to f-off and to feel free to find another auction unless he knows of a way to prevent zero feedback bidders (the highest score you can block is -1). Was not a fan of someone making a baseless allegation against me.

There's also another one listed. I'm hoping that the fact that there are currently five (5) being sold at the current time is a sign that supply will continue to loosen up as the warmer weather comes, bursting the bubble.

Speaking of listings, the scam has been absent for a whole 24 hours now. Perhaps he is on vacation (or better yet, cooling in a cell).

Eating some crow and swallowing some pride by posting this but, could be of interest to more than a few of us.

I commented at one point about the irrational bidding going on and that the price was going to go pretty high.

I have bought a few things on E-bay and usually with good results. It is a fairly safe way to buy things. My best purchase in fact was ProTee with TGC a year or two ago which I purchased for a very significant discount from the 'list' price. That was the last ProTee system sold via E-bay, I believe.

Back to the GC2 auction. I was anticipating a big flurry of last minute and in fact last second bidding since that is generally the norm when bidders try to out manoeuver each other.
I even logged into E-bay to watch the last minute flurry as a bit of entertainment. Generally any late bid usually gets countered with 'automatic bids' which a user who wants to item has entered beforehand and then the fun starts as people start to try and out bid and win the item.

Not much if anything was happening and against my usual cautious nature and better judgement I thought I would start the bidding frenzy along. I made a bid, upping the last bid amount by a measly $25.

This was with about 5 or less minutes to go. To my complete and utter surprise, nothing more happened. No automatic bid, no competing bidder. I felt like a an idiot. I have a perfectly functioning ProTee and did not need or want a GC2, even if I have used it and think it's a great piece of hardware.

Since I had expected things to play out differently I was pained to think that I was on the hook for the bid amount and had committed to buy. A deal is a deal and I was prepared to go through with the deal, despite the hit on my bank account, etc.

However, I decided to look at the bid history. The early run up in the price may or may not be unusual, and it's generally not the best way to get a good price at the end of the auction, but the bid history also turned up some 'smoking gun' info. There had been 2 retracted bids, both for the very high last bid amount. One bid had stood for 5 days and had been withdrawn only the day before the end of the auction.

A Buyer can get out of a purchase by contacting the Seller and having the seller agree. I contacted the seller and stated that I found the retracted bids suspicious and because I wasn't aware of that fact before placing my bid, I wanted to cancel the sale. No questions asked, the Seller agreed to cancel the deal, stating he had another buyer. I cancelled my purchase and discovered that he had, either re-listed or had a new listing, that already had some bids for a GC2. I'm guessing he is selling more than one GC2.

It certainly seems suspicious the way things unfolded. Looks like the price was run-up to find a 'sucker' (insert my name here) who would fall for the jacked up price. The fact that the Seller accepted cancelling the deal so easily is also a bit vindicating.

Not sure what the take-aways are. One for sure is don't bid on something that you don't want to buy. The other seems to be, that you can never really be sure of what is going on with the Seller and the bidding. I still will make purchases on E-bay, and like most of you who have used E-bay I feel that it's a perfectly safe way to shop. But, key to bidding is knowing what the market price should be and what you are willing to pay. And then, to avoid getting caught up in some irrational bid-up to a price that you weren't willing to pay.

          Crow eaten, pride swallowed.

I give him credit for being honest. He could have kept that to himself and no one would have known.

If the seller really wanted to, he could have offered it to the second to last bidder. That is within the rules of eBay.

The fact that the previous high bidder did not have a slightly higher bid, nor was anyone else watching to snipe the auction is a yellow flag. How often would a unit with that much action be devoid of action inside the last 5 minutes? Especially with the last increase in bid being less than 1% of the previous bid.

            The sad fact remains...

If you're bidding because you actually want it - go for it, and good luck! But if you're bidding the price up for shats and giggles - take a hike! There's enough competition for used GC2s out there. The last thing we need is for people in this community making it harder for each other to realize their dream of an affordable golf sim.

Hmmm... did a check of completed listings. The unit that I stupidly bid on was sold Nov 17 for 2250 USD. Same serial number. 1780.

Also, checking completed listings there have been a number of very good priced GC2s that have flown under the radar. Prices on the order of $ 2000.

Deals are out there, just have to find them.

If you look closely at the ones that sold for $2000, you will notice that the sellers only have one feedback as a buyer, and nothing as a seller. That always makes me suspicious. If I bought a $2000 item on eBay, I would definitely leave positive or negative feedback based on my purchase experience. The one that sold on Nov 17 does seem legit though as that seller had feedback for other items as well as the sold GC2. After that one, the next cheapest one was the $2800 one that I bought that is at Foresight right now getting a quote for an upgrade since the bluetooth doesn't work, so I wouldn't really count that price either.

Something seems odd here. There is currently one for sale with serial number 1780. The one that sold on Nov 17th also has the same serial number, 1780. However, the winning bidder name does not match the current seller. I would consider the GC2 sim market to be relatively small, what are the odds that someone bought it less than 3 months ago, sold to another person and then this person now has it listed on ebay again?

            Current unit.

I am not sure why the buyer's name of the sold listing says y***a, but the total number of feedback is 1201 for both that buyer and the seller of the current unit. So maybe it is the same person? Either way, if that guy only paid $2250 for it in November and is going to sell it for double that a few months later, I'm sure he is laughing all the way to the bank.

Agreed, both have 100% feedback, maybe they have two accounts. I've sold golf stuff on my wifes before, not paying attention to who was logged in. If he doubles his money, basically can get a skytrak for free, not a bad deal there. Just seemed a little odd.

I'll help out here.........those $2,000 units are scams. Look at the listing. Also, when you do your search, look at the sellers feedback rating. Most of those sellers of the scams are at (1), (2) or (3) feedback rating.

A nice bit of research, but those weren't actual sales.

Also, yes, I had known that 1780 was re-selling, I missed that unit by 3 minutes and was PISSED!!! Good for him for making $2,000 profit in a few months. Gotta love capitalism!!!

Looking at the listing, go a bit deeper where in very fine print where it says 'look at original listing'. There it clearly states that the item was sold.

Not trying to get into a pissing contest, but do want to understand what's going on.

As for the one where I played the fool and bid on and won, technically that was a completed sale which the seller agreed to cancel at my request. It is reasonable that it shows up on the list.

No pissing contest because, I could care less. I have a GC2 and am very happy. Don't care if you don't see that it wasn't a sold listing on Dec 12th. I'd be happy to explain why it shows as sold...........the listed was listed and then subsequently ended by the seller. If you look under the original listing you will not see any bids or a buyers id. Therefore this was ended by the seller or ebay.

One listed and sold very quickly today. I considered bidding, but there were two flags (I'd call them pink, not red).
            1. Seller just signed up for eBay today--no feedback at all; and
            2. No pictures. He stated that he would send them to "serious buyers."

The latter was particularly strange. I know that he's new to eBay, but there is no justifiable reason for not posting pictures publicly. I've been on eBay well over ten years, and I have never seen that.

I reached out to him for pictures. It sold before he got them to me, as I figured it would.

Someone probably got a fairly good deal, and as long as you go through PayPal, you are protected.

I held off because I think that the bubble is going to burst soon. I have a feeling that we see low 3s before summer.
