  • Smash factor

Really struggle to get anything more than 1.42 with a driver. HMT gives me a swing speed of 115-120mph which is right for me but ball speed never goes over 167mph. I have never had anyone get over 1.43 on it. Does the HMT read high or the gc2 read low. I carried it 317 today with 165mph ball speed doesn't seem right. Anyone got a decent smash factor on it?

Geez, carry of 317 and still looking for more!

    I'm lucky to see 217!

I think GC2 is probably giving you the straight goods since it is very accurate. Smash Factor is calculated and the theoretical max is 1.50 or 1.49, so I'm not too sure that you will get too much higher.

Great question for the folks at Foresight....... we are assuming you are getting at least one solid strike in there that would create at least a 1.48......

On topic, if you have never used this tool it gives you another algorithm to check your numbers against.

        Edit- got it

With that ball speed you should be better than 1.42. You should post la and spin. The HMT is dependant on where the stickers are. Make sure they are dead on.

Here's crazy low spin, good la, 10mph more speed and the same carry. You must have hit it solid.

The GC2 is calibrated via the tilt calibration tool. You put the gc2 on something really level. I use my pool table. Then run the software. The HMT is bolted on. Its not calibrated but based on the GC2 calibration. The HMT is heavily dependant on sticker placement. Here's my driver with correct placement.

Thats a little weak mt , bring that LA up a bit if you want to hit it anywhere...... :P

There's very little information on the GC2 and the guys at foresight are short on information, not sure they have a full understanding. The only issue for me is that the HMT and GC2 work independently, one measuring ball speed and the other club speed. How do you know if one is out. and how do you calibrate it if it is

And my average launch was 15 degree and average spin 2225. The ball that carries 317 was 163 ball speed, launch 16 and Spin 1600.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but curious as to whether Mozza or anyone else found a solution to this... I haven't been able to hit my driver with an efficiency over 1.44 either. With the HMT, I'm constantly getting a club speed between 114 up to 120 (swinging too hard), however only getting efficiency of 1.42- 1.43. Over a large sample of balls hit on the center of the face with the 4 stickers, you would think a higher efficiency (smash factor) would be obtainable. I've got a GC2a model, would this tilt calibration make a difference? Anyone have any suggestions or experience with this issue? Thank you!

Same issue here - I don't see anything above 1.42 with driver. SS from HMT (1-dot) around 113-116, I don't think I've seen a ball speed over 165. All foresight experience has been indoors, using sub-premium balls like Project A and B6. I know totals are all algo-based, but I don't have any problem flying 280+ IRL with plenty totals over 320. I get over 280 total about 25% on foresight.

I also take lessons on a trackman where I easily see ball speed into the 170's, and that is using range balls. Swing speed generally shows the same on trackman as the gc2.

More interestingly, I don't have issues through the rest of the bag. 3 wood feels moderately shorter than I would expect but not as extreme. On the flip side, I can put my 2 iron out there 250-260. I only hit my driver about 10 yards longer on average, so there's pretty much no use hitting it during sim play!

Fairly new gc2 owner, and first post here. I've been extremely happy with the unit aside from not being able to figure this out. I'm planning to get a bunch of swings in with 2i, 3w, and D in one session and compare spin and launch angles as well. I'm also going to experiment with multi-dot to see if i get any different numbers on swing speed. Also will be on the trackman this weekend and will try to gather as many data points there as possible.

I have the exact same issue WODjr. I've been using the 4-dot config and only the driver seems to be off on efficiency with the rest of the clubs in line... although I haven't hit the 3 wood yet. I've looked around the net to try and find some pics of efficiency on the driver with 1.45 or higher and haven't had any luck. I'm tempted to try and swap out the flash or try the calibration software but I only want to do it if someone with experience thinks this could help. I'm using FR1 software with the HMT and 4 dot config. Anyone else have any suggestions or achieving 1.45 or higher smash factor with the driver with the HMT?

On a recent driver session (14 shots) where I was testing a Titelist 915 D3, I had an average SF of 1.43 with two shots at 1.46 and one at 1.47 (the best I've experienced). I use the 4-dot configuration.
