GC2 on the grass range, any issues?

Anyone use their gc2 off grass tees? Any issues with divots, dirt, grass, etc landing on the g2 in a windy situation? Works pretty well off a grass lie or do most just use it indoors or outside on a range mat?

If you hit the shot correctly then no problems. If you lay the sod over it then possibly you will obscure the ball from the camera. The GC2 triggers itself by detecting the first 1/2inch or so of ball movement so if you take a large behind the ball chunk out of the ground then you may not get a decent reading but do you really care to analyze really fat shots? Since the ball is 20 inches or so from the camera it's hard to hit the unit with a divot but anything is possible.

I've had mine on a grass range a few times but not lately as I find using it at home is better then the range. At the range I can see the ball flight and distance calculation with a stand alone unit cannot be changed to input current ambient conditions like wind and temperature. After awhile you also get tired of explaining what it is to fellow range users. It is kind of funny if you have the voice on and people start looking to see who is talking.

I was wondering more about getting a little dirt/sand/grass on the unit itself from maybe the wind blowing it onto the unit after a normal shot. I have the gc2 cradle, wondering if it's protected enough for stuff like that. I like your comment about having the voice on though, bet that would freak people out..lol

It gets dirt on it. That's it.
