FSX worth $700 more than FR-1?

    FSX worth $700 more than FR-1?

    I want club data. I'm debating between Trackman 4 vs GC2+HMT. I'm leaning GC2 because Trackman 4 might never support TGC and I have to have TGC play. Also Trackman 4 is about $5000 more and after the first year you need to pay $1000 per year for firmware and software updates. Ouch.

    Regarding the GC2 is the FSX software worth $700 more than FR-1? I will only be using the software for game improvement. All my simulator play will be on TGC.

    I have the fr1 software and it's great with the gc2. If I were adding an hmt I'd probably get the fsx, you'll get the newer range and course with ctp games too.
    One thing about fsx that wasn't mentioned for some reason is adding video capture into the fsx.
    I still think even if you have all the ball and club data, it's still necessary to video the swing to see what's going on with any faults or changes..

      Thanks. I went with the FSX for just that reason - video capture. I'll do a review once I've had a chance to put it through its paces.

        That's great, look forward to it. I was on trackman the other day and it was nice to have attack angle, club path and dynamic loft numbers when trying out some new fairway woods..

          BamaGambler , did rob a bank? You went from what looked like a $2,500 set-up to $30,000 elite package in less than a month! I have to admit that I'm feeling lots of jealousy. I have no doubt you'll enjoy the GC2, HMT and game improvement. Looking forward to hearing how much this set-up will improve your game.

                My HCP is up 1 point since I got my GC2. I have been sailing greens and nuking drivers through the fairway. Distances are up 10-15 yds per club but I still lack talent.

              That's awesome! The performance fitting will be great. I have the iPad app (w/o HMT) and I love that. I can imagine the entire setup is going to boost your handicap. I even export the data into excel and run pivots to analyze my improvement.

                Hahaha I was thinking the same thing. Im figuring hes a CEO or something here. Like the robbing bank theory even more haha. All the power to him, good investments leading to tons of fun. Great stuff BamaGambler

                    Can't speak about the prior software but FSX with the gc2-HMT is awesome! It gives you so much accurate real time data. I find that while I don't play the courses much I use FSX and the courses to practice much more deliberately so I can take these shots to the course. For example the Idaho course has a hard par 3 with the green 170 on an island and another banked by woods on the right and a large water hazard on the left 212 yards. This allows me to dial in certain shots (baby draws or fades) and see how little adjustments in stance or grip affect ball flight but also path, club face etc. also because you know impact site you can see why certain shots are errant. I really love it and actually think they should only sell gc2 with hmt. I also looked hard at trackman 4. It's awesome but better for outdoors IMO as radar has some limitations at short distance.
