If your unit is picking up higher ball speeds but not lower ball speeds, then the issue may be setup or user related. Chrome wedge face, or reflective surface washing out the images (reflective tongue of Echo golf shoes?).

A sign of a dying flash is if the unit will register lower ball speeds but not higher ball speeds - aka only three or four images may be needed (wedge) as opposed to more images when driver ball speed is measured.

As to revision numbers there is a post from a user on another forum who purchased a new GC2 in late 2015. His flash modules crapped out almost immediately. They were Rev H. After some back and forth with Foresight they said they had a bad batch of modules in the Dec 2015-Jan 2016 time frame. They sent him two new modules for free in Feb 2016. They were Rev I.. Since the release of the "super" flash and the "limited" life temporary modules was in May 2016 it would seem that Rev I modules are not limited life modules.

As to Revision H module life I have had one in my GC2 since last fall. I has had a lot of use and is still going strong. I would note it has seen few low speed shots since I never putt during the simulations. Only the occasional chip shot or short wedge. This may explain some of the short life problems I have not experienced.

Apparently the way things go is low speed shots use more flashes (about 12) then high speed shots (about 7). It is however not just a case of less flashes but also the fact that energy dissipated in the tube in a given time is less.

An example would be if you flashed the tube once for a fixed time and then let it cool (time between shots) or you flashed it 7 times in rapid succession and then let it cool. I would guess in the first instance the tube would last a lot longer with respect to total flashes

As an aside .a user in England has installed a new tube in his flash module and is at something like 3000 shots without failure. The tube he is using has a minor problem with putts and short chips in that in order to register the shot it is picky about where in the hitting box he places the ball.

I just read this post. About 4 years ago, I had the same problem. I had 4 guys come over on a weekly bases during the winter. One of them was using an old R 90 wedge with a brown shaft and about half of his shots didn't register. I don't know why. It didn't happen before and hasn't happen since that time. One of those mysteries that can not be solved.

My GC2 is inconsistent in reading putts. Sometimes it'll read them fine, other times I can't get it to read no matter what I try. It reads all other shots just fine including chips. In fact, I've resorted to chipping the ball instead of putting and it's read an 11 ft chip.

              New flash? Any other tips?

What colour is your putter? How long are the putts?

I use the odyssey white hot mallet style putter. It's silver. The last putt I had trouble with was 11 ft.

I've never heard of this happening. I suggest you try some other putters and see how it goes.

Thanks for the help. It ended up being that the gc2 didn't like me putting off of the fiber built mat. Fortunately the gc2 has a large enough hitting area that I can make it work.
