    GC2 Ipad app

I am planning to buy a GC2-A this summer, however I don't have a sim setup. I plan to use it in my hitting cage outside.

My question is I'd like to see if someone could post a video of the app being used before, during, after shots. I am talking about the app that costs $50

Or, if anyone has a link to a video doing this that would be great but I have not been able to find anything on foresights site or youtube

    Thanks,
    Steve

This video shows Mark Crossfield using the app in an iron comparison.

I have seen still images before. My main question really is this. When you hit a shot is the shot trajectory in the graphs instantly shown, or does the trail of the ball actually populate as the ball flies? If that makes any sense

That I do not know, and I know what you mean. I bought the app recently, as my sim is not ready for TGC or other software, but have not used it yet. My GC2 is due back to me from Foresight in the coming days, so I will have that answer then myself.

leoapd if you could let me know when you get it back I would really appreciate it. Even though it is the same data represented it would be nice to see something that mimics ball flight

Don't remember where I read it but was researching this same question the other day and I saw someone say that it just shows it as instantaneous and not a ball following trail, but leoapd or someone else can confirm for sure. That's definitely not as fun being instantaneous but better than nothing I guess. I'll be using my gc2 with tgc when I get it. But I might buy the app for outdoor range sessions.

It's instant op. Hope foresight's new app expected next month will be better. Room for improvement there but much better than nothing.

Nice, didn't even hear about a new app coming out. Look forward to seeing that one

I have the app and I used it maybe 5 times since buying TGC. If I remember correctly, I think the best part was that you could save the shots and clubs and have it email the results (vague memory). I think it gives two areas for ball flight, one in 2D from the side and one in 2D from above (see image below). It wasn't very fun, if you have TGC, just fire up a range and use autorewind. Click image for larger version

If you are fitting and want to compare clubs, do a gapping, etc. The app might be better for that. Given that you spend close to 1k for TGC, 250 per year for JNPG, and a ton for FSX. The $50 is about right for the value received. I don't regret buying it but I rarely use it.

It's briefly mentioned in the mygolfspy write up on the GCQ as coming soon. Can't wait for more details. https://www.mygolfspy.com/first-look...aunch-monitor/

That is a link to a video with Rich Shields using the app. If you skip to 2:30 you can see the ball flying with a trail but I wonder if that was just some form of video editing?

Very nice find, is he using the new app that's coming out or the current one though? Didn't watch the whole video to see if he mentioned it

It was published back in 2015...I would bet it's the old version.

Waiting patiently for my GC2 to get back from shop to use the app. Only thing I noticed in the video is that it says "disconnected" top right of screen, which to me was not live flight....could be video edit or a replay function of ball flight.

That'd be very sneaky. Kinda silly too as I don't know why they'd waste time on that edit. Unless his shot didn't actually go that straight or far!

Looks like he just overlaid the image slowly from left to right on top of the blank screen. Look at the numbers- they appear at the same time as the ball trail from left to right.

Here's one showing it immediately, but maybe it's edited. Skip to 1:40. https://youtu.be/9j_SqF8QiAM

I have this app but only been to the range with it a few times (still working on sim build). I watch the ball then look down to check spin and it's already there, but I'm not 100% sure either way.

I have the app. The entire flight takes place in a second. I had to look at the ipad instead of the ball to catch it.

                      I just tried it,
