  • Still no reviews on Full Swing Kit?

So it's been out for over a month. Anyone find it odd that there aren't any reviews? I know they sent out some units to a few folks to review, but still nothing.

I can't imagine anyone that participates on this board would actually buy one.

Good point but I remember one user posted and gave a short response. I’ll see if I can find the post. I see what you mean though. With the preorder and no one really reviewing them it’s a toss up that not many of us are willing to gamble on.

Testing the new Full Swing KIT launch monitor – GolfWRX

First review I have seen is here but I have not seen any real users review it yet.

We've got a unit, and will be doing outdoor testing in the next couple of days (weather permitting) up against a GCQuad. We did try it indoors against the Quad, and like they said, it's not ready for indoor use yet (wildly wrong numbers).

            Here it is.

There is a lot of cool gear in the golf equipment world that doesn’t always fit neatly into Most Wanted Tests or Buyer’s Guides. You still want to know

The only thing that surprised me in the review was 5k average PW spin on Quad.

@bubbbtubbs I agree. Wonder if it worth it to comment on the site.

What also surprised me was this was from outdoor testing I believe. They say indoor and out, but also mention it is not set up for indoor just yet (which we all know), but do hope those results were not from indoor testing as that would not be fair for a unit that does not do indoor at the moment.

MGS confirmed it was conducted outside. This is probably the last thing Full Swing wanted to see get out. I thought it would be close on most measures and struggle with spin axis but this LM looks more comparable in accuracy with the R10. I'm highly suspicious of their claim to have indoor mode out in Q1 after seeing how accurate the full flight mode is currently.

We tested our Kit outdoors off turf with an LPGA pro, up against the GCQuad and the TM4. She hit several shots with her 50 deg wedge, 9 iron, 7 iron, and driver. Her shots were extremely consistent, baby push draws with good contact.

No interference between the devices could be detected - we started with just the GCQuad and the Kit, and when adding in the TM4, relative numbers stayed the same.

We did not have stickers on the clubs, so no club data with the Quad. We used fresh ProV balls with no metallic stickers.

We had a spotter at the landing point, and lasered the true carry for each shot. We visually noted the ball flight on each shot

              Our results:
              1. Carry and ball speed were within 2-3% on all three monitors on all shots, and they were all very close to the lasered carry distance.
              2. Vertical and horizontal launch angles were typically within 1 degree on all three monitors.
              3. Total spin was typically within 1% between the GCQuad and TM4, while the Kit consistently over-read the spin by 900-2,300 rpm for the wedge, was up to 1,000 rpm low to 1,500 high with the 9i and 7i, and consistently 300-700 rpm high with driver.
              4. Spin axis varied between the three monitors. All three got the correct direction of the axis, with one exception: the Kit got the opposite direction on one of the ~40 shots. The GCQuad typically showed the highest degree of axis, the TM4 was typically slightly lower, and the Kit was lower yet. Judging from the ball flights, I felt like the GCQuad was reading the truest amount of spin axis.
              5. Club data between the TM4 and Kit were typically comparable, but we didn't pay as much attention to those numbers as the Quad was not able to settle differences due to not having stickers on the clubs.
Summary: Our Kit was dependable for carry, spin axis direction, launch angles, and club data when used outdoors. Total spin cannot yet be trusted - I would not recommend it for driver fittings (having a 2,200 rpm driver shot according to both the Quad and the TM4 read as 2,900 with the Kit could lead a player to make unnecessary changes to their club, shaft, or swing).

Great test you did, thanks for sharing.

Have there been any reviews that focus on the club data accuracy?

Tried the old Google, but seems like most reviews either don't look at the club data at all, or it's an afterthought.

To me, accurate club data is a huge win. If the FSK can give me accurate club data, I'm willing to burden the growing pains of some wonky ball data while Full Swing works on some updates.
