GARMIN! Talk about coming out of left field…
I’m a big fan of Garmin hardware. It works, usually quite well, and for long periods of time. (I have an ancient running watch, about ten years old, that still gets software updates.) The downside: Garmin has a history of needing serious software updates after releasing new products. They usually get it right, eventually, but anyone who owns a Fenix will tell you that it sometimes takes them a little time to finish tweaking. I’m glad to see that Garmin is outsourcing some of the simulation side to E6, that’s a good business move given Garmin’s history, and it still leaves room for their home built software offering to grow.
The reviews for this will be interesting to track. If the unit holds up to scrutiny, the $600 price point is going to eat the MLM and Swing Caddie for lunch. It might even cause potential Mevo Plus buyers to take a look. Great to see new tech coming into the market!

The subscription fees alone are worth considering looking elsewhere. Between an e6 license and the 100USD fee Garmin collects, you'll have paid more than the unit is worth after three years.

bubbtubbs have you seen pricing information anywhere? I’m curious about Garmin’s plan. Their home built sim software looks like a direct competitor to Awesome Golf, and I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a limited E6 license, similar to Mevo Plus.
Great point about subscriptions though. If Garmin sells a ton of these, they can take a loss on the hardware and rake in subscription fees like video game console manufacturers.

this is a patent for a hybrid golf unit that garmin recently published however still pending. Tried getting more information from customer service but they knew jack. According to the manual you need 6-8 feet behind you and 8 feet in front if using indoors. For the price point and data points you can’t beat it. Any body have any contacts with garmin?

Very interesting. It will will crush the devices in its price range. As for Skytrak, Mevo+, will depend on accuracy. What is measured and how accurately? What is estimated? Claimed ball speed accuracy is +- 1 mph. Claimed VLA and HLA is 1 degree.
It also claims to do all club data. If that is true, and accurate, it is also a Uneekor and GC2+HMT competitor, which would be insane at this price point.
I did find it odd that club head speed is +- 3mph. If you can't measure club head speed better than that, how could you possible read AoA, path, face etc. My guess is that all club data except CHS is estimated and not useful.

This looks like it could be very cool. If it is more accurate than Mevo plus for that price it may become the hottest thing in the market.

I can't find the official distances needed from ball to machine and ball to screen? $100 year isn't bad. That's the same as skytrak. The real reason I want it is angle of attack (which is measured I believe) and face to path (which might be calculated. Those are the metrics I'm focusing on in lessons now. Skytrak can't give you those and Mevo+ takes up too much space. Seems like this device is a great alternative.
