  • Skytrak/r-motion and tgc

    I have 2 questions.

1- Does the Skytrak configuration patch work whilst using the Skytrak and R-Motion together as my green speeds seem all over the place?

2- Every now and then I get an sdk error when I load tgc through the Skytrak/R-Motion interface and can only get it to work buy opening and closing the standalone Skytrak interface. Anybody else have the same issue?

    1 - Yes.
2 - Are you using the same license key in the combo interface? Or the 15 course one. If its both for the full version and the same key then it should work without issues.

It’s the same full license key. It only does it every now and then. It’s not a massive problem as it only takes a minute or so to rectify. Would uninstalling the skytrak only interface work.

I own a skytrak. If I bought r-motion, does that mean I would have access to the golf club? what OS does r-motion run on? iOS, android, windows, osx?
Does the r-motion software integrate into the skytrak driving range app?

You would have access to a limited TGC (14 courses and 1 driving range I believe and it isn't online). If you want the full TGC version you need to purchase that(I thinks its 799 right now for the one time purchase through skytrak) I run mine on windows. TGC won't run on iOS or android like you can the skytrack app. It does not integrate into skytrak's app and driving range. The skytrak app only uses/displays skytrack data. If you use the combo TGC software(ST+R-Motion) it uses the ST data to determine the ball flight, but it displays the club info gathered by R-Motion. In other words, the R-motion has no bearing on calculating the shot/ball flight, it provides data for informational purposes which is displayed after you hit your shot. If you use the TGC R-motion only interface, then the ball flight is determined by the R-motion dongle.

Granted, I just bought the R-Motion and am a ways away from actually looking to get a Skytrak but...

Do you know if I were to purchase the R-Motion TGC for $500, would I have to pay the full $800 if I buy the Skytrak later on?

If I am not mistaken, the R-Motion TGC is not backward compatible to ST. If you purchase ST and TGC then you can use R-Motion with TGC and don't have to purchase the R-motion version. However the TGC version for R-motion can not be used if you purchase a ST later on.

I suppose that means I'm stuck with 14 courses for now then. Should be enough.

            Thanks for the info.

no problem. I agree on forgoing that purchase now and would put that $500 towards the skytrak fund so you can get it sooner than later.
          Working...
