  • Clips are flawed :(

I have wrote to their support with no answer so I will copy paste my email to them here maybe somebody would read it from the company...

Hi there , after a vey satisfactory year of use of my R-Motion Golf simulator sensor I have a huge problem. First of all your sensor gets loose and being thrown every time you top a real golf ball . With almost golf balls no problem but it was also meant to be used with real golf balls too ....I am not a super experienced golfer still learning as you can understand but your product is actually targeting people like me so I believe topping the golf ball should not be a user error .It is not just one clip all the clips I have bought(14) have the same design flaw. And I dont think I am the only one who has this problem as I can read on some comments on the golf simulator forum...There is a serious flaw with your design I suppose . Couple of times I had to ask people to stop hitting the ball and go in to the driving range field where people hit their balls and search for my device. Luckily I was able to find it but I had decided to not use it outside after all those embarrassing moments. And at home same thing was happening and I didnt care that much since I was hitting on to a visco mattress but at the end it flew on to the wall next to the mattress and the sensor’s plastic cover got little bit damaged . I was going to write you and complain about it but it seemed like it was still working with no problem apart from it’s appearance . After a month or so in these quarantine days while I was using it your sensor started to not to hold charge and when you connect the sensor to the charger dongle it first gives blue then all the way red till it turns off after a minute or so by it self...So what do you suggest ? I believe your device is fantastic apart from its holding mechanism which you should either give some rubber band or attach a hook and loop fastener to the clips. Can you please be very kind and send me a spare one and I promise I will hook it up and fasten it tight with a rubber band
    Best Regards

I remember reading the same problem here somewhere in this forum . Did somebody have the same problem that I had And were they able to get a spare sensor as a replacement ???

I posted about the same thing happening to me last week (here is the link) https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...-clip-breaking .

I emailed support and they are supposedly sending a new sensor (this was on Monday but it has not yet arrived). I then ordered some 13 more secure clips from ebay for $30. Hopefully the new sensor arrives today.

I received my Ebay order the other day. Have not installed yet as they are not as easy to put on and take off. My plan is to use these on my clubs and use the OEM ones for people coming over to play since they are more easily moved with the twist back. The Ebay ones look solid althrough some have posted in other threads that the sensor can start getting loose in them over time. I will keep an eye on them very closely as I don; want to lose my sensot! But for $30, that is pretty cheap. I would love to get my own 3d printer and "buy" or "borrow" designs from someone but the cost to buy one would take 10+ sets of Ebay ones to break even. Eventually I will move to Mevo plus or other so not worth it.

I also had the senor fly out twice on me for the record. First time was a drive and I did not have the sensor in properly. I should have known as it slid in too easily. Was my fault as one side was not in the slot. I was using an outdoor net that time and took me 30 minutes to find the sensor about 20 feet behind the net in my grass. I was lucky

Second time was on my simulator. A 5 iron where the entire clip broke and went flying into my screen. Looks like the side of the clip you insert after getting onto shaft broke so the clip is uselsss at this point as I can't get enough in on that side to get it to properly lock. I did NOT ask Rapsodo for a replacement but now I may based on your experience. I am talking with Rapsodo daily on other stuff with my MLM so hopefully I will get a response as quickly as I do with that.

Received my clips the other day from Ebay. Pay attention (only because I initially did not) whether the clip has a designation for putter/wedge. Otherwise just start near the hosel and it easily slides up. They have worked well for me. My only complaint is trying to fit all the clubs in my bag after installing these and one shaft was slightly larger than the others so the given nut/bolt didn't fit properly.

Had the same having bought to sets. But fitted a slightly longer bolt in those ones. Until I realised that size fitted my younger son's Ping Moxie's so they've worked a treat.

Get rid of the clips, buy some poster tack for a couple of bucks.

I have played at least 30 rounds this way with no issues. Still using the first package of poster tack.
