  • Real money tournaments...

Okay... I have a question that's been burning in my mind for a couple of weeks. I am sure others have thought of this and may have even asked the same question. Are we, as TGC players, able to start a real money tour? I'm not talking about a lot of money. I'm thinking $10 weekly entry fees and 100% payout. What are the legal ramifications? I don't want to infringe on copywrite or break any rules... I just think it would be fun. I'm also not trying to take away from the already great tour. We're all golfers, and playing for a little bit of real money is fun IMO. It could be just like our Saturday morning IRL games at our club. There could be scratch and net divisions. It would be pretty easy to set up. There could be team events and individual events. Thoughts?

That sounds very awesome to me and would be interested for sure. Im not sure if we would still need some more customization options available by protee first like taking away rewinds (or more heavily scrutinized) and also lock it in so no boosts were able to be added somehow.

But since you arnt proposing much money being put down the im sure most of us are honest guys and would be able to agree to some sort of rule set and hopefully not try to cheat around it. Id expect it to get tense in these threads quick if their were any questionable things that happen during play.

Thinking about it id feel like in this setting, recording and posting your rounds should HAVE to be a requirement. That would help everyone in "just easing the tension baby"......typing ease the tension immediately kick that quote in my head of course.

But sounds fun to me, id be in.

Too many opportunities to cheat. I'd want a Skype session with a full review of settings, only Gc2s and live play Skyped to feel compfortabe. Lol

I'm down with that. With my handicap, of course . Venmo payments. What if we just all screen share? Teamviewer or other...that way I can actually control your PC, and go through GSX for boost or anything else. You would also be able to see the info sent to GSX before it would possibly be altered before it being sent to TGC.

What of every round had to be played live in video with another competitor? All settings to be reviewed by each player prior to start? How about real fines for those caught cheating? The pots could be somewhat large even with $10 entry fees.

This might get real! Let's keep this going, gather some ideas, and see where it leads...

These events would go from fun to ugly very quickly. No one cares about 10 dollars but the egos would kick in.

For me personally, I usually can't play "live". I could definitely record my screen showing settings/webcam of me playing. But I understand if that won't fly.

Right now, with my newborn, having an hour let alone 2 hours to myself is asking a bit much outta the wifey.

Live broadcast with webcam would work.

I have been thinking the same thing. It has potential to be able to probably do private one on one money games and pay each other through paypal. When you start getting into whole tournaments, until you can get universal playing conditions , and then deal with federal gaming authorities etc. That would be a much tougher sell, coming from a guy who lost a couple grand when his online poker casino was raided by authorities back in college.

A $10 entry fee could lead to large pots and large winnings.

How about match play like we did before. Well you guys did, I Had to cancel :-( But in that case there is always 2 guys playing to make sure there is no cheating. 10 bucks start, paying 1-4 . Think that should be pretty safe, right ?

Didn't know you able to "rewind" shots on the tour.......that seems strange! What's this "boost", I don't see that? Why just GC2, what's the difference? I'd sure like to give it a shot.
just got my handicap posted......32. I might be an additional donor!! LOL

Gc2 probably has the easiest way to control things. Skytrak has issues with short game so you may be at a slight disadvantage there.

This sounds awesome. Count me in but I'm in same position as goatbarn. 2 little ones and tight for time. I would be down for having rounds similar to the match play tourney to keep things honest.

I'm sure we can come up with a way to curb the cheating. I think most are honest. Where would we deposit entry fees??? PayPal? Or is there a way to escrow the funds? PayPal would be simple, and we could elect someone to hold the funds in their account.

That's a fact, but I think we can make it fair and fun for all. I don't know too many people who get bent out of shape over $10. I'm thinking payouts for both net and gross for top three finishers. 100% payout... 50% for 1st, 30% for 2nd, and 20% for 3rd.
