  • Distance to hole data?

I'm sure that data is there, just wondering if there is a way to access it. Looking to see if we have a way to find distance to hole on particularly on approach shots. Would be some helpful information to know in working on my game. ie gather data that says for the last month, my average distance to the hole with a 7 iron in my hand is 22'.

Are you talking about seeing your average closeness to the pin? I've never seen that one.

Correct...it's how they calculate the strokes gained data on tour. Ie average distance to the hold from 155 is x feet.

Just swagging this out there as an engineer. I think you could come close. Logic follows:

If you do not have green in above row in that field, you were within gimme. I would take 4 as the average proximity, you could use 3 is you want. we know it's 0-6.
If you do have green in row above, take proximity.
Take current row club, put in the result row along with above, of course averaging.

you could also use current row proximity (put in final calc row by is it between x and y yards), put in this row, header for row is that range if you want by yardage range. I see the first question was by club, the second was by range.

Sorry, just remembered it was by yards so adjust above by that. in other words gimme is 0-2 (1), etc...
divide by 3 when done for feet.

you just gave me a popsicle headache but ya that makes sense...I'll have to get one of the interns at my office to screw around with the data!

lol, I just thought of a problem with that though. They dont separate shots by hole. They REALLY do need to add this to the shot data to make it readable.
