  • Should I switch from Perfect golf to tgc2?

Been a perfect golf user for a year. Saw the trailer for tgc2 and it looks like much better graphics.

I like the map feature on perfect where I can click on an overview and it will line me up there and I can also see yardage etc. Does tgc have that?

Perfect also has variable gimme range and team competition. Does tgc?

    Any other thoughts?

I have both. TGC has all of those features. I like TGC better if I'm playing by myself, but what I like best about PG is the local player support. You can have up to 8 local players and there's way more game options. So for parties, I use PG, but for a normal round I play TGC. I've also noticed that I get longer roll distances in PG. Not sure if anyone else experiences that.

I play mostly by myself. Occasionally 4 players.

How do I get those features on tgc? I have the regular version so I could check out the graphics

Those are both game play settings.

        Turn Hole Minimap On.

Gimme has a few different options. If set to gimme, then gimme inside 2 yards. Then distance gives you a few more options. Also have on green options.

The title mentions tgc2. Just so the user knows that is not available for sim and probably won't be for quite a while.

Oh I thought it would come out same day for sim too. Crap.

Will I have to pay to upgrade to tgc2?

By the time TGC2 comes out, PG will probably have better lighting and 3D grass implemented. They already have separate tee boxes for ladies etc. mini map shows distance to landing and left to pin which is great. Online play is smooth as silk on PG already as well. Stick with PG and see what they implement on their game then compare with TGC2. Both games are fun either way

I have TGC and just purchased e6 - I like some of the courses on there, for instance my home course is now available. I l also like the grahpics better...just seem brigher. Also, love the different tee boxes and games. Sure, all of this will be in TGC2. The one feature I really like about TGC is the ghost player - meaning you can play around with what you shot previously on the course or with another player shot previously.

TGC does have all the above you asked about.

Here is a link to my home course on e6 - has a short video on the course - everything seems correct.

One feature that doesn't get mentioned much is the elevation feature in e6. It is very cool and very accurate. I live in Colorado and they have castle pines and sanctuary and it captures my distances here very well. Then I can go play a sea level course and be humbled like I do when I play any course in tgc. I've said it before but the practice features in e6 which is what I use my sim for 75 percent of the time is miles above tgc.

                    I presume e6 works with Gc2 ?

                    How much is the license?

The only way to use E6 is with ProTee which means you'll own TGC anyway. It works great though.

I find the putting very good, better than tgc. Maybe it's just the demo.

How did you get the Demo working with the GC2? How does it set up with protee interface?

I would agree wth ya, TGC has defintion in trees and grass, PG has blobs. There are some things i really like about PG though. Too bad we cant combine the two!

I thought TGC was amazing until I started playing JNPG and recently, the E6 demo. TGC is so bare bones it's crazy.. It's ok if all you wanna do is play alone. It has almost no game modes.. Doesn't have more than one tee box available...and many other little things the other games have.

Tgc2 would have to be a major overhaul to compete with the other games IMO... I can't see myself holding onto the software until fall when they get around to the sim upgrade, if there even is one coming then.
