Thanks for that - its £679 (so about $911) which is cheap for over here

I'm no computer geek, but I think that video card may be a little small........ I read somewhere minimum was 4 gig

I'll add to that and say, I5 will work fine but I7 processor future proofs you

I agree about getting the 6GB if possible. Everything else is fine. I run TGC on a 4 year old i5, the only thing I upgraded was my GPU to the GTX 1060

Thanks for that - unfortunately i'm in the UK, where with the shipping and import teaxes it makes it very expensive (add another $400 to it!!)

I'm going to get a buddy of mine to build me a machine and have ordered the following, so i should be ok

                1TB SATA HD
                Intel i5 7400 (3.0Ghz)
                Windows 10 Pro
                16GB Memory
                Geforce GTX 1060 6GB

                  I have two machines running the TGC. 2nd gen i7 16 gigs of ddr3, gtx 1060 6 gb SSD and 7th gen i5, 16 gb of ddr4 , GTX 980ti, M.2 SSD.

The difference between the two systems is almost nil.

I would suggest that the GTX 1060 6GB be the starting point for any new system. The video card is key for TGC. For best results..... turn down the settings until you hit a steady 60 FPS. It is annoying to watch chopping video. Using the replay feature in TGC is a great way to benchmark your settings. This way you can see the differences on the same shot.

I would add here to do Keither's benchmark replay video on multiple courses as there is a BIG difference in rendering performance from 1 course to another. So find the sweet spot.

In the UK try scan.co.uk for bespoke builds, cheap and upgradable.

Cheers, had a look at them but ordered everything from cclonline as they were marginally cheaper. Should be here in the new year
