  • GTX1070 low FPS. Please help

    Hello,

@1080p with settings at high, both tree settings minimum and object detail @ 5, I sit @ 20fps....

I bought the 1070 specifically FOR this game... Anyone know how I can improve performance?

Here is some good information about graphics settings: https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...ality-settings

If you have an onboard or 2nd graphics card installed TGC might not be using it. Disable other cards or add golf.exe in your NVidia control panel.

Make sure you have the latest graphics card drivers installed directly from the manufacturer (nvidia.com).

Yes, this sounds like the typical situation where your computer is using the Intel Integrated Graphics card instead of your sweet GTX 1070 power.

Make sure you go into your NVidia Experience icon and choose NVidia for TGC.

I wish it was that simple of a fix. But currently, my GPU is running golf.exe :*(

I just realized tgc isn't listed as a game found in GeForce experience. I've added the exe file location folder for the scan but it doesn't find it. I've always thought my 1080 was a little underwhelming performance wise. I wonder if this is why.

Edit: it's not listed as a supported game, that would be why I guess

Also, make sure you are in windowed mode JackedUpSwing

I am in windowed mode. My GPU is running @ 30-40% and my CPU is running @ 23%. Still 20 FPS..... this is driving me crazy... Should I try reinstalling?

Object Detail = 5 causes me to get low FPS on some courses. I am also running a 1070.

Try object detail = 1, and increase tree settings. I think i have 2000 trees, 600 yards.

So.... Thank you for this Shardak I was only trying 1 course, i think its the course the loads up right away by default(one of ProTee's) courses.... I guess that course is super Object detail intensive, because I get 88+ fps on the first hole of Pebble Beach(ProTee)..... I wish I would have checked other courses before doing all this research :*(. One thing I did notice is that my GPU = 98% and CPU is 40% @ OD = 5, on Pebble Beach, yet I am getting 88+ FPS. It was using 40% and CPU 20% for the course where I was getting 20FPS..... Anyone understand why that is? Are different courses utilizing the GPU differently?

Something else I noticed is that when I have V-Sync on my frame rate drops by 70%

I remember reading something like : Object detail set at 5 multiplies your settings by 5.
Also V-sync slows down your PJ to match up with your screen @60 fps

The guy at HB that invented the game told me that having object detail on full is pointless. 1 or 2 or plenty.

Andyman33 MSI Afterburner. It will monitor your CPU/GPU load/temp/usage/power limits and you can have it over-layed on the screen.

Where in the Nvidia software do you add golf.exe?
