  • Can TGC Skip Holes and Drop Ball Anywhere?

Former ProTee user. Been away from TGC for a couple years and can’t find this answer anywhere. Using SkyTrak and considering TGC...

Is TGC now capable of a “practice” mode where you can select any hole on a course, drop a ball anywhere, and keep hitting shots from one spot? Reminiscing old ProTee 2.0 hitting 7-irons into hole 12 at Augusta for hours and hours. Last I remember it couldn’t be done on TGC...had to play holes 1-11 just to get to 12 and couldn’t reload from tee box over and over again. Not ideal!

    Thanks!

Can't be done on TGC absolutely not, no dropping a ball anywhere you feel like. And you cannot conveniently just go to a hole in TGC you have to hit escape and concede the hole and listen to some annoying narration about 5 seconds and do that consecutively until unfortunately until you reach the hole you want. That being said there's a 4-hole design course that the guys here use and it has just famous holes and one of them is from Augusta for instance that part 3, the Spieth killer. That would be easy access.

Allegedly when the golf club 2019 drops, hopefully shortly you will be able to drop the ball anywhere or that will eventually be something that is prioritized for development as many here have commented on that and it's a known issue.

You can only do it by conceding hole, then you can hit "R" which puts it into rewind mode so you can hit the shot over and over again. takes a few minutes and some keystrokes, not the greatest but it is possible.

Practice mode is such a basic feature to be lacking on a quality game like TGC after ~4 years of production. I'll pay good money for a legit standalone Practice mode given that right now TGC is the only course forge openly available to SkyTrak users. If I see those guys at the PGA Merch show I'll ask nicely...PLEASE!

No, it's been requested for years, and IMO unlikely to ever materialize. I would take at very least the ability to pick a hole to start on. The conceding holes to slog your way thru a course to see it or reach the hole you want is stale.

You can use practice mode in TGC1 and 19 on any hole but cannot drop anywhere. Just hit cntl R to be put in practice mode from anywhere.

Thanks for help, it would have been nice to add this feature to TGC 2019

          It’s been 4 years so I don’t think it’s coming.
