SkyTrak program won't start because of TGC Interface will not close. Please help!

Hello,
After a clumsy install and start up things seem to be running generally smooth. I do have two issues though that I am hoping people can help with.

1) After I close TGC and the TGC Interface - Windows 10 gives me notice that TGC Interface will continue to run in the backgroud. It tells me to go to the "systems tray." The problem is . . . as long as it continues to run in the background I can't play Skytrak. I watched some videos on how to close apps in the background, they don't work, TGC Interface doesn't appear. I tried the "system tray" by going to Settings - > Privacy -> Background Apps and it isn't there. I tried switching the button to disallow background apps - it sill won't close. I tried Task Manager from Control+Alt+Delete - it doesn't appear????? At a total loss. The only way to start Skytrak is to go a full Reset and then it opens fine.

Any thoughts? I can't be the only one.

2) Skytrak - If I have been playing Skytrak it loads right up and starts no problem. But if I go from TGC to Skytrak I find that it across the screen "Logging In" for a really really long time. Then after a long wait it makes me input my email and password again (even though I always click the "remember me" button) ??? Any tips on what is happening?

Problem 1 is actually more annoying although it takes less time to deal with than Problem 2.

You need to close the TGC app by right clicking on the icon in the system tray and closing it from there.

Can you walk me through how to do that? I tried Settings - > Privacy -> Background Apps and couldn't find it.
I am guessing I wasn't in the "system tray"?

I'm n a Mac right now, so I can't take any screenshots for you. Take a look at this thread - it should give you an idea of what you need to do.

The system tray is the area down near the time display in Windows. You'll usually see an arrow you need to click in order to see everything running there. TGC is represented by an icon that looks like a shield. Right click on that and select close and the process will be killed.

It is in the bottom right corner of your task bar. In the picture, right click on the red shield and select exit.

This happens to me all the time. I have to restart my computer. I guess I should say happened since I can't play for a while.

It's not very intuitive, but it is probably that way because TGC.exe runs in the background as a service as opposed to as a traditional application (like the game itself). It's super easy to kill that service once you know where to look.

PS: On my computer the shield was green.
I also didn’t have to log-in when I went back to Skytrak so I am hoping the two issues were linked and I killed two birds with one stone. 🤞🏻

My guess is that it will fix both problems. I think that’s only one app can talk to the SkyTrak unit at a time, which broke your ability to switch from one app to the other.

It was green because it was still running. When the shield is red it means it is disconnected. Sometimes the bottom light on the skytrack stays red while I am playing. I will right click on the shield to reconnect it...this is another shortcut for you.

I have the best luck using task manager (ctrl+alt+del) to kill the processes that are running in the background. This will keep you from needing to restart the machine when programs are interfering with each other.

That actually did not work. The interface program was not there. The solution described above did work though. No more problems with Skytrak needing to be re-logged in either.

Now - if I could just figure out why it disconnects in the middle of multiplayer round (and why my co-player / “guests” progress disappears when I restart) I’ll be good to go. :-/

I'm going to have to look at that. I thought I was seeing everything in the task manager, but maybe not?

If it disconnects during a round, you can minimize the game (in windows mode) and click on that same shield in the system tray and select "reconnect". Maximize the window and should not have to restart the round.

For me when it kept disconnecting, it was my internet and wifi signal. I now use a wifi extender and rarely have any issues.

That sounds great. How do you put it in Windows mode? I click “Play Game” it then opens TGC in a window but asks me to select a resolution and a picture quality then it just opens up to full screen.
Am I missing something?
(I have a strong WiFi signal - but research tells me I should try Network Mode instead of USB - even though the seller told me the game must be played in USB. Haven’t tried Network yet.)

When I connect the box through the TGC Interface, a seperate window pops up that allows selecting a resolution and there is a box you can select that says "windowed" or something along those lines.

I seem to recall you can also hit the windows key on the keyboard and also get to the system tray.
