  • new member questions on GC2/skytrak tgc2019

Been searching the forum for a few days. Learning a lot but want specific info if anyone cares to help it would be much appreciated.
I'm setting up first SIM in basement. Have lots of space and height. I already have a net, mat, and gaming computer/graphics card (that I want to run to a 60" smart tv, don't want screen at this point. ) I'm wanting to run TGC2019 because it looks great to me. My questions is cost difference of skytrak VS GC2. I can get a skytrak tomorrow from a friend for $1700 Canadian. Then I assume all i'd need is to order TGC2019 and install and away I go. I also might be able to get a GC2 for $5000 canadian refurbished from a rep. Problem is he's pushing hard to sell me their software though isn't insisting. He says that their software works much better with their unit. Trouble is it's close to $4000 and that's no bueno for me. Especially since the graphics are worse and there are only 150 ish courses.
Any way, wondering if with GC2 I can simply run the tgc2019 software or do I need to pay for additional license etc? I'm a scratch golfer and I value accurate readings but mostly I just want to play sim golf with my son. I'm wondering exactly what I would require to run TGC2019 on GC2. Also wondering if the tgc2019 software works well on GC2. Rep implied that the reading aren't accurate.

Did you come across this particular thread? There are a few others as well. I believe the bottom line is that tgc2019 is not officially supported by any foresight products but there is a way to make it work. If he's telling you it may not read well with it he's probably just trying to get you to buy their software. And if your main goal is to play sim golf, definitely opt for tgc2019 over the foresight software. https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...9-gc2-tgc-2019

At those prices I would get the GC2 if it is compatible and as noted above not get the software.
