  • Easy courses?

Can anyone recommend some easy courses on TGC?
I've been having some problems with my golf, and have been going to the pro for lessons. I'm looking for something with fairly wide open fairways so that I can get a bit of practice without spending my entire time in the trees!
I've noticed that TGC sometimes makes it really difficult to get out of trees, even though you look to have a good lie and be just on the edge.

I have not actually checked that we have in our sim version of tgc but i assume we do.

Little Brook manor is supposed to be easy

i played tpc boston and thought the fairways were very generous.

Also, think the two official hb desert courses are easier - no trees and fairly wide open. One is called yuma desert and the other is sonoran valley.

Nice one - thanks. That Little Brook Manor looks ideal for a start.
I haven't seen a course classified as EASY before... only some Medium and the majority are HARD!

When I was playing yesterday I put the ball into the trees and it bounced out. It was still in very bare rough on the edge of the trees, but looked to have a perfect lie. TGC classed it as Heavy Rough 43%-71%... so my usual 200ish yard 3 iron shot went about 90yards! If I'd had that lie in real life I'd have been getting 95% out of it!

Our systems indicate you are using an old version. You need to update TGC to version 2.3. The penalty system has been adjusted. The new system would give you 95%.

Thanks... I'll try that when I get home from work. I thought I'd already updated to 2.3, but obviously not!

You may have 2.3 but make you open it and not a previous version when starting.

Does installing the new version not overwrite the previous one? Perhaps the shortcut on my desktop is for the old one if it's still lingering!

No. Shortcut may be for an old build.

When I go to Add/Remove Programs, it says I have The Golf Club Simulator installed on the 17th Jan V2.3. I installed V2.2 on the 16th Jan, and then Zmax posted there was a new version - so I downloaded and installed that.
I can't see anything else. When I run the file, it starts up TGC SDK Version 2.3.
I'm maybe being stupid, but I can't actually find the game files. I have C:\Program Files\The Golf Club - however the files in there are the Steam version I had before having the SIM. I did uninstall it, but it must've left some files.

JS1010 - the Little Brook Manor course was exactly what I'm looking for. Something with wide fairways and pretty flat greens. Hopefully a few rounds of that should help me sort my game out a bit... and also help me learn TGC putting distances.

Check your interface to make sure that you have all the sliders at 0 except the greenside bunker slider is supposed to be at 40

The game is installed in c:\programdata\protee united\tgc simulator

You can uninstall the game through the control panel. Check for any left overs in the installation directory and remove by hand. Then reinstall the latest version.

To test: load a course and hit a ball into the rough or high rough. Then hit a few and use the rewind to play from the same position.

You should not see 50% decrease in yardage when playing from the high rough or rough.

I've checked in the C;\programdata\protee united\tgc simulator folder. There is a readme in there called version.txt - which states V2.3
                        I'll re-install it anyway.

Hoosierdaddy - where are the sliders? Are they the ones on the ProTee section of GSX? I assumed they were just for ProTee.
