Hello, does Pro-tee charge a fee if you need to change computers? I upgraded to a gaming computer from a laptop. thanks

No. I used the following link and chose “New Computer” as the request type. I had a license within a day. I was sure to fill out all the fields as accurately as possible to avoid back and forth.

Email support@protee-united.com with your new machine id and the old one that you are replacing and they should give you a new license key at no cost. I had to do it recently after reinstalling Windows and they replied back with the new key very quickly.

This is my first time on the forum...very excited to share what I did in my garage/workshop, its a beautiful fold up simulator (including turf floor) with protective doors and tucks away completely in a few minutes....pics to come later.

I just bought TGC 2019 for use with my Skytrak and am debating whether to install the software on my PC or Desktop... both are similar vintages, my laptop is more convenient but not upgradable, my desktop will take unwanted space up when I fold up my sim and I still use it in my house. I see in the post above that it is free to swap computers but that takes a day to process. My inaugural opening with the boys is this Thursday so I want to be all ready, and only have time to do it once.

Did I read correctly somewhere that I could have bought a new designated PC with TPC 2019 already loaded? That may have been worth looking at...?

Laptop vs Desktop...which would you choose? (both have lots of HD space and both use DirectX12, both are Windows 11)

      Laptop:
      Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

      Desktop:
      Processor AMD A10-8750 Radeon R7, 12 Compute Cores 4C+8G 3.60 GHz
Installed RAM 12.0 GB (10.9 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Is your projector a 4K projector or a 1080p/1200p projector? If it's a 4K projector, it just means you need a much beefier GPU to run it smoothly with high TGC in-game graphic settings. Both your PCs have good enough CPU and RAM, so just need to know what GPU they have. CPU Integrated graphics just won't cut it really.

Just to give you an idea, I run my TGC 2019 on an old 2017-bought i7-7700HQ laptop with Nvidia GTX 1060 and it runs perfectly fine at 1920x1200 resolution with maxed out graphic settings.

If you aren't sure, try installing The Golf Club™ 2019 featuring PGA TOUR from Steam. It's exactly the same that that TGC 2019 was based on. They have a good refund policy so you can buy, install it, see how it runs on each PC, then you get a refund which is automatic if you played it for less than 2 hours within first 14 days.

Do you have what it takes to win PGA TOUR’s FedExCup? Compete in the all new officially licensed PGA TOUR Career mode. Play on famous courses like TPC Boston, TPC Sawgrass and more.

Thanks for your quick reply Aussiebenny, I failed to include my laptop GPU, it's a GTX 960M. And yes, my projector is 4K and currently running my laptop at 1440x1080. Skytrak works fine. I'm going to take your advice and try out Steam. I was also just looking on marketplace and there are a bunch of kids out there upgrading their gaming computers and selling off the old ones for $600 with far superior GPU than I have. If the Steam test doesn't work, I may rush out and nab one.

Glad to help. Yeah, I would think GTX 960M isn't going to cut it unless you run it at lower graphic settings as it's about half the speed of my GTX 1060 but who knows...

Thanks again ausssiebenny, the Steam test worked so I loaded TPC2019 onto my laptop and so far all is going well on the graphics front.

I have another problem, maybe someone can help.... maybe I should find another thread? Here goes... I am running TPC 2019 with my three buddies and we switch from LH to RH every hole. So far I can only get TPC 2019 running in USB mode which is a real pain having to move the computer and Skytrak to match the hitter.

I tried putting Skytrak into Network mode but TPC 2019 doesn't find the box.
      What am I doing wrong?

Oh update!!! I just found a thread that Skytrak software needs to be off. Did that and it works in Network mode now!
