  • TGC screen - too busy

Really enjoying TGC with skytrak. One minor complaint - the screen is awfully busy immediately before you swing. Does anyone know if there is a hotkey to clear the screen so that it looks less video game like? I think the game would be more immersive.

You can remove most things. Can you be more descriptive? What is busy? What is video game like?

Will provide a comprehensive list next time I play.

What makes it video game like? All the stuff on the screen. Not sure if anyone else feels this way - I like it best when, if even for a moment, I think I'm actually playing IRL. Don't get me wrong - TGC is great.

To much UI. Club selection box in top right, your score and ghost scores in top left.

I dont think there is a hotkey to hide the UI, and the only item that can be hidden is the aiming circle I believe. It would be nice to be able to hide all the UI except maybe the distance to pin number.

Busy screen - all four corners of screen have something going on. Top left - score; top right - club and yardage; bottom left - map; bottom right - I forget now. Middle - the circle.

If we can't get rid of all of it. Does anyone know how to remove any if it?

From previous responses in this forum, the course map and aiming circle can be removed. It was explained that the software originated for a video game, not for simulation play; thus the other screen displays cannot be removed.

Your best option is to post the request in the requested feature thread. It might be simple to add the ability to turn them off. As stated, some already can be. The others you're asking about cannot.

At the end of the day a sim is a video game so I personally like the information. It doesn't intrude on my experience but I have a 15 foot screen so it's not an issue to me.

As a long time user of TGC, I'd have to say I find no issue with what is displayed on the screen. The image will never be immersive enough that you wouldn't need basic information about hole, club, score, distance... When playing your shot you are looking down at your ball and the onscreen info shouldn't play any role in actually hitting your shot.

Kind of reminds me of some of the other 'issues' that people have had:

              1/ colour of ball tracer

2/ the fact that there is a tracer and that there is a follow cam - would rather be stationary and watch the ball sail off into the sky - more 'realistic'

3/ lastly, the one who wanted to have to find his ball after each stroke... that would be fun!

I think we have to realize that we can't please everyone and all in all TGC is pretty darn good and will only be getting better.

I think your number 3 point was in reference to my post here.

I hope you realize I was joking with that "request".

See above 'minor complaint'. Also I can't think of a more appropriate place than this forum to express suggestions for improvement.

The HUD is busy for sure! Hopefully someday we get a rationalized HUD that only includes necessary items that are optimized in terms of screen real estate used.

Long time users get used to the console video game look but I wonder how much it deters new users looking for a simulator rather than a video game.

You can turn off the follow-cam on sim as well - right?
