OK... I am participating in the beta testing of some of the latest releases of TGC. I just want to perhaps vent some frustrations and share some thoughts.
Firstly, I believe that it is best that beta testers keep the fact to themselves and do not share what is being tested and start discussing in public that which has been entrusted to them.
I knew of some major issues quite some time ago but have always kept them to myself in the belief that testers are entrusted with testing and are not tasked with broadcasting issues, new features etc. When a release has been tested and released, of course we can share our opinions and explain features and so on.
One of the things that is accomplished by keeping things under wraps is that there are no expectations being created and no pressure to deliver in a certain timeframe.
I am more than a little bit disappointed that there are conversations surfacing that relate to beta testing and use of the new 'beta' release and it's features.
Maybe I'm out in left field on this and maybe my past history in software testing is tainting this, but better get it out there.
