  • TGC keeps going into Windowed mode

I usually run TGC full screen (ie non-windowed) but whenever I switch to the desktop or another program and then come back to TGC it has reset to Windowed mode. Do other people find the same thing? Anyone figured out why it does this or how to fix? Thanks!

It's always done that. ProTee said its a Windows thing. I just run it windowed with the task bar on auto hide

I just changed my task bar color to black, and the window to cover the entire resolution of my projection, and don't have to hide the task bar.

Either way though, windowed mode can be made to look full screen.

But, fullscreen should be functional as well. Something that maybe can be added to be looked into. Does it still snap to a really low resolution (tiny window) when I goes back into TGC?

it did that to me when I ran tgc w the projector as a 2nd screen at 1080 and my primary screen at 720. when it jumped from fullscreen to windowed it would always go to 720.

On my PC when it snaps to windowed, the resolution is a little strange. When I snap to full screen, it gets worse and is pretty much unusable.

if memory serves, tgc remembers the last resolution set for windowed mode and snaps back to that when dropping out of fullscreen, unless your primary display has a lower resolution, then it drops down to match the primary display.

don't believe I've ever tried going back to fullscreen from windowed. how would you do that? alt enter?

On a few occasions I've had it go into windowed mode randomly (I always use it in full screen mode), and then when I maximize the window everything is super slow, and it usually crashes within a few seconds. I then reboot the PC and everything seems to work fine in full screen mode. I've never played it starting out in windowed mode.

On my PC it's basically broken.

The resolution seems to stay the same but each change from one to the other the FPS gets worse. One change from full screen to windowed is enough to cause flickering problems but I may suffer through rather then exiting and restarting TGC. Changing the windowed mode back to full screen (using Alt-Enter) drops the FPS in half or worse and there is no choice but to exit and restart everything.

I've just tested on various other programs and NONE have this problem. They all Alt-Tab back to whatever state they were in to start with. Even my lowly Optishot works fine. So does E6. As do various non-golf/non-game titles (ie AnyVideoCreator etc).

EDIT: I should also say that PG doesn't have this problem either. PG works fine.

It is NOT a "Windows problem" it is a TGC problem.

This has been a problem with TGC since the very beginning, when it was in Early Access on Steam, long before any launch monitor integration. I would be very surprised if any fix is made to it, given that its been an issue all along.

I tend to still run in full-screen mode, skytrak has been stable enough where I dont find myself having to tab out to reset the integration app very often. It is annoying when I accidentally tab-out, made worse by how long TGC takes to actually launch. From clicking "Play Game" in the Protee interface, it takes so long for the TGC options window to appear.

Hopefully TGC2 will be a much more user-friendly app and these basic issues will be addressed.

It becomes a bigger problem when you're playing an online match or in person with a friend. You can't resume. For that reason I run windowed.

Is it possible to get rid or hide the title bar on the top? Otherwise i can't make it look like full screen mode.

Yes, you can run TGC completely borderless. Looks naked though... For you we will add an option to the settings to run it borderless.
