  • Refine freezing from time to time

    Hello

    When playing the short complex mode, after hitting a ball, nothing moves. After 20s or so, the ball goes and then I can continue playing again. It happened 3-4 times in less than 10 minutes.
    I'm using a i5 8th generation and a 1060 GTX 6go video card (latest video card driver)...and I have never faced this issue before the last update.

    I'm using the 04/27 Refine version (1.2.1) and also latest Ignite version - I've just upgraded to these versions after not playing with my QED for a month (elbow injury due to much playing on a "hard mat).

    I would like to know if some of you are facing the same issue than I with Refine (and also with Ignite but less frequently).

    I would give Austin a call, sounds like a driver issue.

      I could not use my setup for about a month and had updates for both Windows and Ignite. Now I have an issue similar to what you describe. When my computer starts to act up I can hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and about 20-30% of the CPU is used up by "System Interrupts". It could be a hardware issue, but I think a driver issue is more likely. I can not figure out how to fix it. I rolled back the latest Windows update and it made no difference. I'm planning to wipe the hard drive and reload Windows from scratch. I would love to avoid that if anyone has a suggestion.

        Thanks guys. I did contact Austin but no luck...
        since yesterday, I have downloaded the latest windows version - I will check if it gets better and let you know.

        what is weird is that the 3D usage of my GTX card was showing 80% of its capacity being used by refine.
        It was not the case before the update - or I didn’t see it

          When in doubt, I generally blame Windows. If this turns out to be a Uneekor problem I would love to learn that ASAP. I really don't want to rebuild the whole PC just to find out it makes no difference. I have a pretty slow connection for downloads, so it's a pain.

            no good news here after running the latest windows update + antivirus. Same issue

            I had again freezes during the challenge mode : I hit the ball, the time counter carries on but the ball stays...and takes off after 20 seconds roughly. So, obviously, it is very difficult to play in these conditions.
            I've sent a mail to Austin asking him how to reinstall Refine (there is no uninstall option in windows for it).

            I have also asked how to install the software without having to install the software received in January and then install the patch update..I guess that there is a link to the latest installation exe file.

              Thanks Patator for the link. Did Austin mention how many other folks are affected by this? Hard to imagine that it's just you and me?

                I had a 40° swing path reading today on a straight, normal draw shot with a driver. Swing speed was also about 20mph higher than my normal max speed. 4800 backspin.

                This occurred at shot 29 of a session...after 2 misreads/no reads.

                Definitely happening more often, no idea what the cause may be. Not good.

                  I can't even remember the last time I had a misread....until this thing started happening. I can restart the computer and maybe hit for 10-20 minutes? Then, when this thing happens it never reads another shot. The processor is tied up and the speakers won't even work correctly. I wonder if it's related to the camera drivers?

                    Good point concerning speakers...I ve noticed yesterday that there was no sound coming out of refine. It was not the case before the 27th April update.

                    austin told me that he had this issue only with one other customer and the issue was the gpu van not working correctly. But the customer had also issues with other games. It s not my case.

                    To uninstall the software, Austin told me to basically delete the folder and run the installation again using a link he has sent me with my licence number

                      I assume you are going to reinstall Refine? Please let us know if that fixes the problem.

                        Well some bad news here...I haven t reinstalled refine yet...why :

                        I did a quick fitting session today with a customer and this time I had the exact same issue with ignite (player hitting the shot and the ball goes off after 20s).
                        So, I m not 100pct sure that reinstalling refine will fix my issue.

                        I wonder if the issue could not be coming from the fact that I have two cameras being plugged at the same time...and/or if it has something to do with the swing motion update ? (Which is commonly used by both ignite and refine, isn’t it ?).

                        I will try to run another session tomorrow or Friday unplugging both cameras.
                        If the same issue occurs , I will reinstall refine.

                        If it does still not work, I can try on another gamer pc have (strong configuration also with a 8go gtx card and i5 8500 cpu).

                        I have commented all the above to Austin and wait for his feedback.
                        i will share my advancements here as it could help others that could be facing the same issue.

                        btw, as usual, great support from Austin who never lets you down even if he does not know where the issue comes from (yet) !

                          I don't have any swing cameras installed (and never have). Since your sound is dropping out, I think it's a pretty good bet that you have the same "System Interrupts" problem that I have.                             I was using Ignite and TGC2019. The sound (John) and the background noise was present when functioning correctly. After 10-20 minutes the sound started glitching and from that point I could not get a shot to register reliably. One time my guest hit a perfect shot right at the flag, but it didn't register. I restarted TGC2019 and it showed the shot nearly hitting the flag. It appeared to be stored in memory and then displayed later. Communications between the computer and both software packages seem to be getting interrupted or not handshaking properly?

                            It's strange, it looks like it s only both of us facing similar issues...I hope it's not an issue with QED hardware but a software compatibilty issue after the last updates. Have you tried to play the refine Challenge game ? I got a 20s freeze during the first challenge a couple of times...The ball wouldn't go but the clock was running...so, it's definitely not a game freezing issue..it's the game that was not receiving the info from QED...

                            Sorry I can't help with Refine....I never bought it. I just have Ignite and TGC2019. My impression is that the computer resources are "tied up" and not getting the info from the QED.

                          Some good news here so far. I have reinstalled Refine AND Ignite...I've hit about 100 balls and not issue in Ignite, Refine and TGC.
                          After hitting the first 100 balls, I plugged my cameras...and no issue ! I've hit another 70 balls with my son and so far everythig great.
                          The sound also came back.
                          So, I guess my issue is fixed unless I have a new surprise tomorrow when testing again. @lowaCat89 : delete your Ignite folder (or just move it to another drive).
                          Go to that link, and install the softwareTry to see if it gets better for you also.
                          I will keep you updated tomorrow after new tests

                            We had similar issues last evening, lost sound and video delays while playing the Uneekor short game challenge. A reboot took care of the sound not the delayed video. I suspect we should try a reinstall. Are you using the Swing Optix camera's, if so any feedback?

                          So, I confirm that after two days of intensive tests, it works like a charm. The reinstallation is quick and no need for recalibration.

                          I had to add an external usb hub (with its own power supply) for the camera on the back - the PC USB3.0 power supply was not strong enough for a 9m usb extension.

                          I'm very happy with the cameras, it's more than enough for a non professional use...and only for 150EUR including shipping to France.
                          I would never pay 10x this amount to get another system which might help me gaining a bit more frame in full hd mode (60fps with my current cameras). I get 120fps in 1280X720 resolution. It's perfect to check release point and swing + club trajectory.
