  • TGC Pittsburgh Field Club (ProTee)

I've just published a ProTee specific version of Pittsburgh Field Club. It plays to 6300 yards (Blue Tee) and with some nice elevation changes, including the signature 1st hole, which boasts a tee shot that drops over 120 feet to the fairway below. For more screen shots follow this link http://tgctours.proboards.com/thread...ings-published

Pittsburgh Field Club is a private country club, established in 1882, located six miles (10 km) northeast of downtown Pittsburgh in the suburb of Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania. It rounds out an impressive quartet of courses in the suburbs northeast of Pittsburgh, along with the Longue Vue Club, Oakmont Country Club and the Seth Raynor-designed Fox Chapel Golf Club.

Known simply as The Field Club to Pittsburghers, it hosted the PGA Championship in 1937, where Denny Shute successfully defended his match play title. The club also hosted the Western Open in 1959 as part of Pittsburgh’s bicentennial celebration. Before he won the U.S. Open in 1953 at nearby Oakmont, Ben Hogan had to qualify for at the Pittsburgh Field Club, even though he had won three of the previous five. PFC also co-hosted the Stroke Play portion of 2003 US Amateur Championship, held at Oakmont.

The course was designed by Alexander H. Findlay in August 1914. At the time, Findlay was the premier golf course architect in the country, having perfected his design skills for decades in every corner of the country. The current layout is an amalgam that includes the efforts of Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast, Emil "Dutch" Loeffler, Arthur Hills and Keith Foster.

Thanks for doing this. Looks great. How long until it is available for us to play? I searched TGC pittsburgh and it did not show up.

      Welcome to the forum.

He would have uploaded it to the HB server. Protee will sync it over. Usually it's done pretty often.

If it was published on the pc/console game, we'll have to wait for the next sync. Maybe they'll do another one for part 2 of the update?

I'm new to this... should I contact someone at Protee to make sure it gets uploaded? I'm working on Fox Chapel Golf Club at the moment and hope to have it done by the end of the month.

It's automatic Pitt. They sync over everything on HB every few weeks.

I think I've been there. Super hilly, right?

Pitt1976 if you design on PC, you can send us the design file and we will publish it on the ProTee servers .

Is there a way to change the course designer's name when it gets uploaded? The vast majority of the courses say by TGC Member if it occurred during the sync. The ones that are updated to the server are generally by Craig151 or a few others. It would be best if after the fact we could add a designer's name to the top courses that way the searching for more courses by the designer works. I guess ideally it would be twofold, when we upload a course by a certain designer there is a place to enter in the designer's name (such as Pitt1976) and then also we could go back and update old courses. Perhaps just a few members could be given rights such as RDH or Bubba to make sure the policy isn't abused.

It was designed on a console, not computer. Pittsburgh Field Club (ProTee) is how it is listed. It would be considered hilly in some regions, but relatively flat for the Pittsburgh area..

This is a cool track. I played it last night .. it's a par 70 and measures 6800 yards. It's a good test of golf without being too hard .. Very fun track...

Played this course tonight and absolutely loved it, played very fair on the sim and gave one the feeling of being on a very nice private course. Great work Pitt1976!
