  • Best Simulator For Young Kids

    Hi Everyone,

I'm curious as to what would be the best simulator to teach children on. I'm thinking in terms of commercial use as opposed to residential use and I am currently thinking of an OptiShot 2 because I feel it is less about the true swing analysis and more about being able to play on a simulator and have fun while learning the game. I've already got high end simulators planned out, but I'm thinking if I added one more, less expensive (and cheaper parts-replacement), less inclusive simulator for kids, it would help offset some of the wear-and-tear on the better sims. So my question is what do you think the best simulator for parents to teach their children on is?

    Thanks!

Honestly, I feel this boils down to software more than the actual launch monitor. I am relatively new to TGC, but I'm extremely impressed. I have an eight year old who is considered one of the best young players in the U.S. She's won multiple U.S. Kids Tour Championships and is truly gifted. Even at her talent level, I have struggled with keeping her interested in practice. TGC software has given me the ability to make it fun for her. I've created ranges and courses for her. I've created a range with tons of animals on it. She can hit the animals and knock them over. She has a blast on it. I've also created a couple of short courses that she can play and shoot great scores on. I've had a simulator in our home for more than 6 years. I started her at age 2. Up until a few months ago I couldn't keep her interested in practice for more than 15 to 30 minutes at a time. Now, with TGC, I can hardly get her to stop hitting balls. It's been great! Now I need to find a way to get her off of the simulator so dad can play. Lol

That sounds great. Is there a boost function on TGC?

Yes, there is. TGC software is wonderful, and it works with numerous systems. Go to the TGC forum and you can learn all you need to know.

when you installed TGC it should have created 3 icons. One to start the game, one to add friends with, and one which opens text file. The text file is where you find the boost.

tlhammond5 are your practice courses (animals especially) available to find for anyone to play or do you have those just for your use? I have a son that is somewhat the same way, although he's getting better. But my 5-year-old used to love to go out with us and play and has even hit on the SkyTrak sim a time or two but she's kind of lost interest as well. That would be a great way for them to have fun. I know e6 has a zombie shootout, but I'd like to stay away from that type of stuff.

They have been published for public play. I believe the best animal range is "The New Range at Hammond Farms". The courses are "Villa Mia" and "The Junior Championship Course at Hammond Farms". Have fun!
