    Garage Sim - Complete

    Hi All,

After a couple long months (seemed like 6), I have finally put together all the components of my garage setup. I originally posted questions about my ability to complete this project w/ the limited width (less than 8 feet) I had in my 3rd stall garage. However, a great suggestion (thanks wbond) to move my enclosure from the back wall of the garage to the side wall (left outside wall) proved to be the best bet. However, before I did anything I had to get my garage cleaned out as you can see in the pictures below. I ended up having a storage shed built in my back yard to accommodate all the "stuff" that was previously in the 3rd stall. I ripped out all the cabinets on the left wall as well. To make enough room (width) for the enclosure, I also had to re-work my garage door (single door) for that stall into a high lift system which raised the door to the ceiling and shortened the amount of distance the door traveled back on the rails. With the storage shed and garage door complete, it was time to put everything together.

I've posted a handful of pictures below of some of the progress and here is a list of everything I used for my setup. Thanks to everyone on this forum for all the insightful posts which definitely helped me through the process. I guess I will also throw a shout out to col forbin for all his help both on the phone and at my house with everything as well, haha, thx dude!

    Components:
--Enclosure: 10'H x 10'W x 5'D Minibay via All Sports Systems which includes the blackout wrapper
    --Launch Monitor: GC2
--Custom built PC w/ GTX 1070 GPU
--Insignia 39" 1080p Smart TV working as monitor
    --Software: TGC
    --Projector: Benq 2150ST
--Stance Mat: 4'x5' Fiberbuilt w/ ball tray
--Turf (inside enclosure/around stance mat): Turf Evolutions - Meadow

I've been playing for the last week or so and still working out any small improvements to the setup along w/ everything that goes w/ TGC.

Thanks again and see ya on the course,
    CW

I went with the standard (non-HD) screen from All Sports Systems

Lol of course it has to be better.
What tweaks are you thinking of making?
I'm finally getting into the action phase of building my own sim room.

Hi jmark, probably the biggest thing I'm looking at right now is lighting. I didn't really consider any of this when I was putting it all together. There are 2 sets of lights in my garage. The first set has 3 lights under the bulkhead which is on the right side and the 2nd set (2 lights) is left of the enclosure. I'm trying to get the best setup so there isn't any shadows and have sufficient light w/o washing out the picture.

Other than lighting, I've been fooling around w/ the projector settings to optimize the picture, etc.
