Thought I'd share some of the work on my garage golf simulator build so far. I literally sold my other home for the sole fact that the ceiling height was not high enough to swing a full driver in there. lol. I have placed my order for the screen, projector, turf, baffles and more that should be here within 2 weeks for final completion. I will be using this with the Skytrak and have also purchased the Armour Protection for it as well. Let me know your thoughts, good or bad. Thanks again!

This is where I am now. Hopefully within two weeks I will have the turf down, projector mounted, screen and frame set up, baffling installed and ready to go. Ordered mostly everything through Par2Pro. Also ordered a new mat through Fiberbuilt. Will continue to post pics as I go along. Still need to figure out placement for the projector. That is going to be the most difficult part. Will also be adding curtains to hide the water heater and water softener for visual purposes. If you have any questions or comments just let me know. Thanks!

Lookiing good, I have a few questions:
1) What size screen are you going with?
2) Decide where you can mount the projector and then go buy it. You need to buy the right projector which will be determined by your required "throw distance"
3) You got alot of EMT in there, I'm confused as to the overall layout of the sim....is it going to be a full enclosure? Is the screen the full width and against the garage door? If so, how far away from door?
Oh, and nothing wrong with selling and buying another house in order to fit in a sim room....shows proper dedication. Welcome to the family.

Thanks Gene. Here are the answers to your questions.
1.) Screen size is 14x9 HQ Screen from Par2Pro.
2.) I already had jumped the gun a bit and ordered the projector as well through Par2Pro. I think I figured out the correct placement already. I will add some pics.
3.) It is going to be a full enclosure minus the ceiling which will have baffles instead of netting or canvas. The side curtains have Velcro which will attach to the black felt ordered to go around the EMT where the screen will be placed. The placement of the front of the screen is a minimum 24 inches away from the garage door. I will also be putting a foam mattress top behind the screen and back netting to further dampen the impact.

THIS is wonderful documentation of your project and I'm very excited to see the finished product. I told my wife before we bought this house last year that I needed at least one room where I could swing the big dog. So I feel you.

Thanks so much Punte. I will continue to document my project until completion. My goal is to actually create a YouTube page and do some "Average Joe" product reviews on everyday golf items once the room is complete. I'm tired of seeing PGA pros and others hitting new golf clubs coming out over 300 yards on a bat shot etc. This means nothing to me the average golfer and 75% of all the other above par golfers out there.

Lots of Progress Yesterday. Received the turf and golf mat and put in place. Turf was extremely heavy at over 300 lbs and had to be cut down a bit to size so a good amount of work went on there. Frame is back up in place and now just waiting for the screen and baffles to be shipped so I can start playing!!!9 Photos
