Advice for purchase for our Dad

Hello all.

You have a great site and I'mn lucky to have stumbled on it.

We need your help. My brother and I want to purchase our Dad a home system.

We are not golfers other than I'm a very low D player in a client's benefit tournament a year.

I've read on through the site the last few days and it's a bit over whelming to say the least.

Here are the "constraints" we are working under.

**We'd like to buy from one source
**Our budget pretty much maxes out at $5000
**Dad will use the system primarily for practice. I'm sure some play but it will definitely be the minority of time.
**Single person use - dad's location is somewhat isolated so no cronies really hang out.
**In talking to dad, i think he would like side enclosures of some sort
**Space or height are really not issues.

this is my suggestion. They will walk you thru the entire process. the building of it might scare you but not that bad - took me about 3 hours. I am sure you could call a handy man service and have it done as well.

this might stretch your budget beyond 5000, but not by too much. You will need to add a hitting mat.

With your constraints a skytrak setup from allsportsystems like Penrose linked is your best bet imo.

3. Options - 45degree side extensions. While the blackout wrapper looks good and is cool , it is something that is relatively easy and much much cheaper to do yourself.

Should be just under $4k.

4,6 I really wouldn't recommend getting from there. I mean the enclosures and mats price wise are fine but all the 3rd party stuff is a little out there price wise. Even the Skytrak you can buy certified refurbs for around $1600 from Sky Golf themselves. That being said I'm assuming that you either have some technical experience or have friends that could help you out with a much cheaper projector/computer option. If he is just primarily going to be practicing you don't need to go crazy imo.
