  • My golf sim custom build

So I finally got to start my golf sim build tonight, I've had everything I needed apart from the screen and projector for a week but needed these so I could start the rest.

My GT1080Darbee projector came in from amazon yesterday and I picked up the 5m by 3m screen today. The screen is so big it takes up the full side wall of my double garage.

Called my mate who is a carpenter and he came around to give me a hand and we were able to get the screen up and projector perfectly in place in a couple of hours. It would have taken me all day by myself without his talents.

I decided to follow Igor from 24-7 golfs screen set up hung using balustrade wire and cable ties. He supplied me with the screen and he's ordered me a skytrak which I'm expecting to arrive next week some time. I've used his screens and there is no bounce back at all the ball drops. This part was actually pretty easy with my mate doing the bulk of the work which was great.

I don't use my garage for keeping cars in, it is always used as my man cave. It had several MX bikes and a full workshop but I've given up racing and riding due to a few pretty serious injuries the decision was made to turn it into a sim room. Only problem is I have an up and over garage so I need to be able to detach the wires at that end if I need to lift the garage door. It was simple with the use of a couple of caribenas I can simply unattached them in a matter of a minute or so.

Fitted up the projector and I am super impressed!

Can't wait for the skytrak to turn up and the gaming laptop will be delivered to me tomorrow so I'll be all set.

Video of the current set up and projector in action. Photos on how I did the build to follow shortly
