I'm ready to get a launch monitor, namely a GC2, for indoor garage use. Just wondering what impact a launch monitor has had on people's real life golf games? Has your game improved much since buying a launch monitor? If so, what areas have seen improvement? Interested to hear people's experiences...

Mandragora. The Kirkland ball spins well on the greens so it should help you. They are very reasonable at $23.99 for 2 dozen. The downside of the ball is that it does balloon against the wind and you'll lose distance, more so than other balls. I use it as my winter ball and when I'm playing on my sim.

I have had my monitor for over 2 years but have only recently got a garage so was able to set it up on a permanent basis. I haven't seen much of an improvement yet, but i think i'm holding back cus i need to get used to indoor golf. worried about hitting ceilings or walls with the clubs, getting hit by the ball on a shank that has rebounded of a hard surface. I have padded everything but still need to get used to it.

I may be the outlier here but I've regressed quite a bit. I've lost 20 yards on all irons and 30 on the driver. Handicap has risen by 5 strokes. I blame the hard, unforgiving CCE and think it led me to develop a cast and early extension to avoid making contact with the mat. I've ordered a Fiberbuilt and if I don't see results with it, I'll be selling my GC2.

definitely improved a ton. my best score was 90 IRL prior to the sim, and usually 100+. after two years practising, I shot 81 twice and am normally in the mid-high 80s. driving off the tee and chipping with the sim have been the biggest improvements. putting as well (mostly getting appropriate weighting). I never would have believed I was capable of shooting low 80s, so I am very satisfied with my LM (skytrak) although would like to upgrade at some point (let's go, Uneekor!)

The 3 Ws hahaOriginally posted by gnomike View PostI'm glad this thread was revived!
Having a sim in which to practice has greatly improved my game consistency. My schedule is so erratic IRL that I could previously never practice or play regularly. Since my muscle memory has Alzheimer's, I'd often shoot much higher scores than you'd expect from my handicap. Now that I can swing a club regularly regardless of the three Ws (work, weather, wife), my real life scores are much more consistent.
