Help with choosing simulator for my budget/space

Hello everyone,


A few details about the space first.

23Lx14Wx9H. I am 5"11 and have a relatively flat follow through and feel pretty comfortable about swinging a driver in a 9 foot high space. I have tested it already in my finished area and think I have a 2-3" of clearance. With that beings said, after talking with a foresight rep, HD golf rep etc. I am not sure where to start. I loved HD golf's pitch about installing everything etc. But I love that you can take the foresight mobile. HD golf was also frickin expensive, which I have no problem with, but I won't come close to dropping that kind of coin without a good amount of time trying one out.

My initial budget from start to finish for the simulator, materials and set up(not including construction- i.e, drywall, woodwork, mechanicals). falls around $25-$30k.
I am in Wisconsin and I have zero interest in setting this up, installing etc.

My main reasoning for this is being able to swing year around and game improvement. I still play a little bit competitively and want to be able to get the most accurate feedback on lie angle, face angle, spin rate, launch etc. The entertainment aspect is a bonus, but I'm not doing this to play round of golf on a pretty simulator, although that is something I do want to do every now and then.

With that being said, any assistance or direction would be appreciated!

If you want club data, then I'd say to go with the GC Quad or GC2 w/HMT. If not, a GC2 would suffice. A used GC2 runs around $4K and the Quad is $18K with FSX software. Your software choices are limited on the Quad(FSX) until the bluetooth feature is enabled. You will also need a projector, computer, screen, hitting mat/flooring, and some odds and ends. Your cost on those should be in the $2-4K range.

There is no one I know locally that specializes in this and I'm essentially looking for someone who can handle the entire simulator aspect from start to finish. I own a mechanical contractor and will be able to handle all electrical, lighting etc. I also have my own carpenters for the rest of the room. However I have no interest in having anything to do with the installation or set up of the screen, floor, monitor, simulator etc.

I think Foresight does offer complete installation, but you will probably pay for it. As long as you order the right things, the setup and installation is pretty simple. Any decent carpenter or handyman shouldn't have a problem. You can definitely get enough help on this forum with what you need to get.

I'm building a new house at the moment that will have a simulator in the basement as well. I'm also in wisconsin and have seen a guy advertise on Craigslist saying that he sells and installs custom GC2 simulators. I believe he is from the greater Chicago area. Might be the guy from par2pro that is referenced in the above post, but I'm not for sure.
