Rank skytrak, gc2, protee and trugolf (using trutrac) for accurately capturing and accounting for the quality of a strike (e.g. Gear effect, smash factor). Assuming gc2 is first but interested to see where the rest shakes out...

Very loaded question and I'm sure you will get differing opinions.....but I'll bite.
If you are talking about a permanent installation indoors, then I go with ProTee (maybe ahead of gc2). Yeah setup can be complicated, it's not plug n play. but, handles left/right without issue, i believe it to be the most accurate for club head (sweet spot, quality of strike, etc.) and you get instantaneous swing results on the screen (TGC).
If you want plug n play, the ability to take it outdoors then I go GC2 then skytrak (greatest $ value), I am not familiar with trutrac.
I will also add that in my unscientific estimated survey, I come across mainly skytrak users playing online and they seem happy with their setups. Everyone I have played with online has a miss read or no read shot every once in awhile......

Thanks Boerdoc, that is very kind. Every idea or enhancement came from this forum. The guys on here are great about sharing. I just finished doing some improvements (are we ever really finished?) and I made a short video touching on the highlights. There were some guys wanting to know about the placement of the cameras and how the screen was hung, so, I wanted to go over that. Here it is. JJ1981, maybe this will give you some ideas.

Gene. I am speechless. That place is a paradise. Keg beer and a beautiful golf sim set up - what a dream scene.
This is all very helpful. Thank you so very much. I'll be watching this video several times in the near future.

Yeah, I actually don't like looking at Gene's set up ... it makes me green with envy. A dedicated room with an extraordinary sim build, we should all be so blessed. In all seriousness, he and others here are great about sharing their experiences, trials, and tribulations to help those of us just starting the journey.

Thanks JJl1981, most of the guys on here can answer just about any question that comes up. I really don't know what's more addictive, actually swinging on the simulator or tweaking and building it.
The real answer to your question is more about how you will use it and then just weigh the pros and cons of each system. To answer your question about setting up, yes I did it myself and I love to tinker with stuff, so I enjoyed the process. I did not think it was that bad, but some guys prefer plug n play. I never actually had to have an online session with ProTee, but some guys have and they said it was the best thing they did and they had them up and running in no time. I got all my answers here on the forum from the guys. I read through all the old posts and flagged the ones I thought would be good for reference.
I play online with some of the guys here and most have skytrak with a few on the GGC2. I think as far as portable launch monitors, the consensus is the GC2 with the HMT is the best and skytrak is 2nd but much, much more affordable. We all have a blast and I can honestly say I think it's one of the best investments I have made. It is so nice to be able to walk in , hit for 30 minutes and not lose half a day by having to drive to driving range, etc.
Let us know if you have any question and when you start to build, take lots of pics. I'm laughing because we are a strange bunch, we pass along pictures of simulator rooms like some guys pass along porn......
