$22,000 build a sim

looking for advice. Budget is $22k. Need to buy/build a home simulator for me and friends. Group is lefty and righty players. What do you build and why? Thanks in advance.

I just got a sneak peak email yesterday and it looks like they will have JNPG integrated into the next version of TPS. By the looks of it you can choos from different ranges as well as play practice holes. I need to take a closer look, but it looked very promising.

It's no longer JNPG. Trackman bought the company and is fully integrating the sim software with their hardware offerings. Trackman users will be very happy golfers soon, as it looks great with the new user interface.

Trackman simulator is for Trackman users only. The simulator is built into the shot analysis program, just like FSX.

Leo, I think you are referring to TPS update and I think bond is wondering if the sim portion of the software would be available for other platforms still as they were building it for multiple platforms prior to takeover. I don’t know the answer to this, but would hope they keep it open for as many as possible as it will really increase online play numbers and provide a good base of users/revenue to fund continued development.

Yeah unfortunately it will just be for TPS only. The old JNPG is a different story and has nothing to do with Trackman Simulator.

No real synergies between Trackman markets and gamers so probably the JNPG console/pc game is dead.

Great move for Trackman to solidify and develop it's market position with their own first class simulator.

An open market version of JNPG simulator would allow competitor LMs to directly compete with them so that probably becomes a dead end legacy product.

It usually takes a bit of time to settle but in the end I'm guessing most likely Trackman does with JNPG what Foresight did with RedChain.

I have a quote from Par2Pro currently for my build that will have so much in common with gene438 build and I have a similar budget as above. Preston advocates for the CCE mat. I really don't know what to do, I was going to get the CCE but you're not the only person on the forum with sore parts from the mat. Others are fine it seems. Also anyone know how a ProTee mat (with cameras) compares to the GC2 with putting??

Preston was great to work with. Everything else he did for my set-up is exactly how I wanted it. Honestly the CCE mat is the biggest regret I have about my purchase.

I consider myself a really good ball striker. I’ve been as low as a +1, and I average about 32 putts per round.

I found my ball speeds and therefore distances were significantly lower than they are when I play outside. It turns out this was due to striking the ball ever so slightly fat. I’m at least 1 club shorter when I hit balls on the CCE than when I hit from a FiberBuilt or my current mat.

Part of my issue is I’m taller than average, which makes my swing steeper than average. Since I take a healthy divot the CCE punishes my joints. After only a few days of hitting balls while trying to align my GC2 I started noticing it. And I’m not talking hundreds of balls, I’m talking about dozens over a couple of days.

Perhaps it would be great if you’re a sweeper or if you carry 9 woods and a couple wedges, but my advice would be stay away.

If you don’t want to listen to my advice, I have a brand new CCE I’ll sell you. I was planning on cutting a hole in it and putting a divot action in to try that as well.

I’m currently using the “Ultimate” series from Southwest Greens. It’s the same stuff they used in the Performance Center at Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, and after hitting a few balls off it I asked who they got their turf from. It’s by far the best I’ve used so far, and it was only $8 or $9 per SF with the pad that it rests on.

According to PP devs, jnpg will continue to be available for Skytrak and other LMs. These devices can also expect to be usable with Jnpg 2 once its released.

From the interview I read with the PP devs, jnpg will continue to be available for Skytrak and other LMs. Supposedly they can also expect to be usable with Jnpg 2 once its released.

Even if they do end up changing their mind down the road, JNPG costs $35. That’s by far the cheapest thing the OP is going to purchase in his set up.

I strongly support this as well. You cannot beat that price and the quality of the game is wonderful too. I wonder if JNPG 2 will follow along due to Trackman merge but JNPG1 will always be a great choice due to its great price and superb online capability.

This is why i was saying, Im spending my money on projector & visual fidelity, and so I can also have my choice at software and change if i don't like it. I knew for last 4 months Trackman was dedicated JNPG only for the future based on what their salesman told me quietly. So TM & HMT do me no good per the software straight jacket with their hardwares.

My understanding is that JNPG is going to get real proprietary for TM only. It'll be a Foresight /Fsx like marriage. I highly dislike FSX graphics and I'm not impressed at FSX 2018. So TM could take the mantel should they get over themselves on the hardware costs though.

I've emailed Southwest about their mat, also pricing their putting turf, and lastly some synthetic lawn pricing while there lol. So you have Southwest's mat and the turf Preston put in? Those two blended well? I wonder if he'll install the Southwest mat for me?

Not a salesman. I got a lot of great advice from people on this forum, so I’m trying to return the favor. There were a lot of great comments about CCE, but I just don’t get it.

Yes, I’m hitting off the Southwest Ultimate series, and there’s about 7’ of turf that Preston provided that goes between my hitting area and my screen.

I think it looks fine. I also putt off of the Southwest mat, so I haven’t tried their putting turf. As far as “installation” goes there’s nothing to the hitting mat. I have a non-slip rug mat from Amazon on the hardwood floor, then the pad from SW sitting on top of that, and the hitting turf on top of the pad.

Can you take a photo of it and share if you don't mind? I also went through Preston and chose CCE because it was cheaper and punishing but I heard about southgreen too. No demo available so i want to see at least what it looks like.
