  • Simulator Retailers

I am new to this forum, but have read a lot of the content here. The content and ideas are fantastic and have taught me a lot, but I have come to the conclusion that what I really need is the best sales consultants to help me figure out the best setup, etc. I have someone contracted to build a metal building from scratch to house the simulator, so at this point I basically have a blank canvas. I am leaning toward a Trackman, mainly because I would like to use the system more for game improvement than entertainment and I use the Trackman with my current teaching pro, but am open to anything.

I saw the name Par2Pro in a few posts and have looked over their website. Are there any other retailer/consultants that I should look into? I am about 100 miles west of Houston, so someone in Texas would be great.

Thanks in advance for any help and thanks for a great forum

I have heard good things about par2pro. They are definitely your one stop shop. In my opinion if I could afford a Trackman I wouldn’t hesitate. Just make sure the building is big enough for Trackman to work properly. I think you need 15-20 feet after the ball is hit for it to read properly. Not exactly sure on that. You can always buy an Optishot or a used Skytrak to use with Trackman for entertainment purposes. GC2 is also one I would look into as well. They are really good. Good luck on the build!

The software that comes with TM includes simulation on some decent courses. For TM 3 you need min of 18 feet from front of radar to screen and TM4 needs min of 16 feet (the TM4 can sit closer to the ball for accurate measurements of club data). My thoughts are you go 8 feet behind ball (that is front of the TM unit) and then go a min of 12 feet of ball flight. This if you have 1.5 feet behind screen and give 6 inches for the TM unit from rear stand that is 22 feet of length. If it were me I’d go 25 feet.

Thanks for the comments. I am hopefully going to overbuild the building as that seems to be a common theme in the forum. Probably something along the lines of 40X30 will hopefully leave room for television, places to sit, etc.

par2pro I am pretty sure will come to your place and do everything. You might also want to call trackman sales - guessing they offer the same service

I watched a video and trakman wasn't accurate in indoor mode. Completely owned by camera based hardware indoors. Inside no way trakman, outdoor trakman all day long.

i believe latest TM is fine indoors as long as you have required length, which you will ceertainly have in your building. i would certianly get a quote from TM for a turnkey solution. i hope you post pics when it is completed.

Wizard, perhaps you can share the link for your video?

I have have said it many times that one thing that does frustrate me about this industry is that it seems to be very hard to find an unbiased review or comparison. Unfortunately, the comparison you shared seemed to go a long way to try and be unbiased, but in the end one is left asking lots of questions and fortunately Leo did take the time to ask the questions and the answers back don’t help leave one the impression that the videos are unbiased.

I don't think Leo has anything to gain either way. It seemed unbiased. The guys from Ping were at my club last year and said the same as Leo. They also said that the Foresight read spin better than TM4. They had both. One of my pro buddies has an academy with TM3 and it's a long way to the screen. I actually ran my GC2 beside his TM3 and was shocked at how similar the numbers were indoors. Shockingly similar.

2 things about TM. Nothing is better outside and no issues on left and righty play. I actually looked at it and wanted to buy it but the lack of putting/ chipping at the time killed my interest. If I were to replace my GC2 it'd be with a TM4 but I don't have 16 feet to the screen so may not be an option. I really love the product.

Doesn't trackman have some sort of yearly fee?

Thank you MT for that extra information and Intotally agree the Leo had nothing to gain from his research other than just plain old interest in doing a side by side test and then reporting his information. i am still loving my TM3 and am actually considering a 2.0 build that would see me getting approx 15 feet for my drives (currently just under 12).

They do, it’s $1k per year for software and another $1k per year for hardware. This is not something that you have to pay as you can still use the software, you just don’t get the latest updates (for instance I get the new TPS driving range which is amazing, but don’t get their new sim courses to play).

                        Hope this helps!
