  • Simulator for Small Space

I'm looking for a simulator for my apartment where I don't have room to set up a net and hit balls. That being the case, it seems like PhiGolf and Tittle are the only options where you can play using a swing stick (am I missing any?). I'm wondering how these systems would be able to pick up quality of contact when there's no ball involved, i.e. can it tell if I should've hit the ball fat/thin/off the toe/heel, or does it just assume center-face contact every time? I've heard things about distance readings being not quite accurate for these systems, but as long as the readings are consistently off then that's not a concern for me because I can just club up/down when playing the game and then just go back to my "true" club choices when playing real golf. My #1 goal is having something that can help me improve my game; can these simulators accomplish that or should I save up for when I have more room to operate in?

I'm living in a studio and had the same concern, so I got a Phigolf setup and I'm enjoying it. Yeah you are right, the calculation always assumes that the ball is hit squarely at the center of the club head. I mainly use the Phigolf app that comes with it because it has training programs and game mode as well. I can see my distance and swing path via the swing analysis results. Their website explains that the distance is calculated from the highest speed and angle. In my opinion, the results are accurate enough for casual golfers and people who want to learn and improve their golf skills as a training aid. I guess when I've become more comfortable with my golf game, then launch monitors is a good option to invest in.

May want to take a look at Optishot or Optishot 2 or a used P3proswing.

Go with a Sky Trak. They take a bunch of pictures and input into an algo so you don’t need much space. Mine is like 4-5 feet from the screen and works great. So save up I guess I am saying. Buy once. Cry once. The rest are no better than a VR golf sim.
