    New Build

    Hi all,
I've started my sim build here in the UK and currently have an enclosure with screen in my garage, a hitting mat on order, but am slightly stuck in the launch monitor. Its pretty impossible to get a Skytrak at the moment, but I can get my hands on a Mevo+. My issue is that I can have 7ft of flight and 7ft behind the ball. I know that's less then recommended, but I was wondering if it's doable. If not then I suppose I'll have to wait, but patience has never been my strong point and I'm so excited to get started!
I have also been thinking of getting a Protee system instead and have been in touch with Jamie who's been incredibly helpful, but looking to the future am unsure about the resale value of those compared to the Skytrak and Mevo.
Any help would be so appreciated.

Welcome to the golf sim world! I started with a Skytrak but within a year I had upgraded to a Uneekor QED. I ended up wanting to take my device to the range as well so I upgraded again to a GC2 and then ultimately a GCQuad. A Skytrak is a great way to get started, but you will probably find that you want to upgrade eventually. There are used Skytrak units for sale here in the classifieds on this site. You can also find them on various Facebook groups for sim golf. Be wary of scammers and use PayPal or use a credit card that offers fraud protection if you don't feel like waiting for a new unit.

Hey Chicub15, thanks so much for your welcome. I've been lurking for quite a while, but it's only been since we've moved house that I've had the space to be able to have a sim. I'm sure that in time I'll want to upgrade, as and when funds allow and I'll definitely make sure that I'm careful when buying used. Thanks for all your advice.

I have seen posts by people that are using the mevo with 7ft x 7ft but dont think anyone could say for certain you will get accurate data unless you try it in your environment. Although i know that doesnt really help.

I had a skytrak for a very short while whilst i waited for my Mevo+ to arrive. Both great systems for the price and both have their pro's and con's

Check out my YT channel, i post lost of videos with the mevo, i have a simple garage setup but works pretty well. Any questions let me know

How much does Protee system cost compared to mevo+ and skytrak?

          Hey Alex,
Thanks for your message. I'm thinking I might have to bite the bullet and just give it a go. If it works, great, if not then I can always sell it on I suppose. Just be good to hear someone say, yes, it works. Probably wishful thinking on my part.
I've watched loads of your videos actually and found them really useful when planning out my build so thanks for that.
          Cheers
          Chris.

Also, the Protee quote I had was for a refurbished one. About £3000 but that does include TGC 2019. Be great to have club data as well, but just not sure about being able to sell it on when I upgrade in the future.
