  • Why NOT EYE XO?

    Hello everyone!

Been reading, researching, and lurking here for a while. I am building a sim set up in my detached garage. The original budget for the SIM was 40-50k. Talked to and got pricing from pretty much all of the major players:

    -Fullswing
    -Aboutgolf
    -Foresight
    -Unekoor
    -Trugolf
    -HD Golf
    -Trackman

The more I read, the more I can't get myself to spend the money on the other systems. I was sure I was going to end up with FullSwing or the Foresight GC Hawk. We were able to demo FullSwing, Trackman, and a GC Quad. Other than adding multi-sport for the kids, I can't see a reason to spend more than double to get any other system than the EYE XO. I keep telling myself that for $20-$25k more, there MUST BE A REASON. Construction on the space starts next week, so I need to get something ordered. Can anyone offer some insight on my thoughts here? Any comments, advice, or direction would be greatly appreciated!

Can't talk you out of it, I would get the Eye XO! Many happy users on here that have the XO and also those that switched from Quad and QED.

I think there are some really amazing features that you do get from the big time pro-level simulators. Whether or not its worth an additional $25K... ehhhh...

Foresight is the only one (in my opinion) that might be worth spending the additional money for. Their club analysis data just seems to be so impressive. The fact that big time club fitters and builders use GC Quad's demonstrates that they believe in the extra investment. Now, translating that down to a consumer like you or I, I don't think its worth it. Personally, I'd rather bank that extra cash, or use it in my simulator space for other things like a really nice 4k Laser projector, lighting, seating, finishes, and a bad-ass computer with a super high end graphics card in it. Or if those are not your style, just think about all the great golf trips you could go on with that extra $25K, or take that $25K and put it into your Kids CHET account or an investment fund.

Value is all in what you perceive, and for some people the biggest value that Trackman, FullSwing, HDGolf, TruGolf, and Golfzon see is that its pretty much a one click (more or less) on and off simulator experience. For me, that doesn't matter. I'm not in a position to buy those simulators, nor would it fit in my home. However, if I was in your shoes and building out a dedicated space with the budget you have, I feel the EYEXO is the perfect system and the upsides to any of the others could not possibly add up to the $25K that I would have in my pocket after the build was complete.

My personal opinion is that you are absolutely correct in your thinking. More money does not always equal better. I think there's a point of diminishing returns with launch monitors / sims. I've played some of the higher end sims in commercial environments and wasn't exactly blown away. Then there's this guy's experience.

I am very disappointed with my Full Swing Simulator and just wondering if I am the only one out there? Would love to hear from someone that likes their FSG setup. I paid over $90K for the FSG Sim and a Swing Catalyst setup this summer and it has just been one big let down. They provided me with an old version of the E6

          Hi

Yes, you are right, use the extra cash to get a PuttView or something.

Remember new launch monitors will be released over the coming years and prices keep tumbling.

Keep some cash to upgrade or change in the near future.

That is exactly what I have been seeing! Thank you for the reply!

Thank you very much for the thoughtful reply. While I will use this system for game improvement, it is also very much for entertainment, social gatherings, etc. I would love to put the difference in cost of the systems towards my bourbon lounge that is going upstairs from the golf area, nicer furnishings, projector, computer just as you said!

I was just reading that yesterday! And to be honest, FullSwing was my first choice before digging deep into this rabbit hole. Their marketing & sponsorships tell a much different story than what feedback from actual users seem to experience.

I have had my Eyexo since they first released them. I can’t say enough about how good it is. It is simply just an amazing sensor. Is it perfect. Maybe not. I think the benchmark might be the GCQ and since you can take it to the range it has some added value, but if you have the righty/lefty issue and personally I don’t like having the sensor in the vicinity of the hitting area, I looked at that as a negative. I had a skytrak a while back and that bothered me. Too top it off, the company is first class and looks after their customers very well. The system is open to using 3rd party software of any kind. I have not had the chance to compare the data to say, the Quad, but others have and each one has stated that the data is very similar to the Quad. Personally I don’t think you could go wrong with either one, but the price difference is a lot, and when I was moving on from the ST, I got a quote for the Quad and I just could not justify that much of a price difference. Both excellent sensors, just one costs a lot more.

Did you buy the senors only or did you get their All-In package? I am going between getting that or piecing it together on my own.

I purchased the sensor and the swing cameras only. When they first introduced they Eyexo they did not offer a All-in one package. That came later.

I would also add, the support from Uneekor has been outstanding. The QED is our 2nd sim, we love it. It JUST works.
