  • Odd question - what else besides golf

I built my sim about a year ago and it has been a blast. Friends, family and I have played a ton of golf on it and enjoyed the heck out of it. However, I have grandchildren and young adult nieces and nephews that will be coming to our place for Thanksgiving that would have fun using the sim for other games as well . i was thinking about buying a wheel, pedals, and shifter combo but thought I would ask you folks if you have found fun uses for your sim for the non-golfers in your world. I have posted a picture to show how much room I have. The screen is 16'x9', the projector is a shortthrow overhead projector, and my pc is a very good gaming computer that should be able to run about anything. Thanks for your suggestions.

I’ve hosted group games like Jackbox on my simulator screen. I’ve also used my SkyTrak to have running closest to the pin and long drive competitions. I’ve also put out an old wooden fairway wood and people enjoyed taking turns hitting it.

If you did a racing sim, that would be pretty cool. I have a wheel setup and play Forza 7 on my big screen on my xbox but I thought about doing it in my sim setup too, I think it would be pretty amazing to race on a 10' screen

There are several places that offer shooting ranges, skeet/trap, house clearing, etc that look like fun. I have also seen other sports games available.

We have the racing sim, with the chair and pedals etc. it’s great fun for everyone. Also have Microsoft Flight Simulator with a HOTAS controller. Also great fun for all ages. Finally we have an old game system that we’ll occasionally attach for multiplayer gaming on the massive screen.

It looks like you are running a Flightscope, if so look up this https://www.creativegolf3d.com/. It has a lot of different games for the non golfer and has a free trail download.

I'm just picturing my 9 year old self playing duck hunt on that big screen and it would have been amazing. I wonder if any games like that exist and would work?

A commercial setup near me has Full Swing golf simulators and have a game that allows you to shoot a fake rifle. I’ve never heard of a recreational sim having that feature.

US based hunting software (the others look like EU)

Truly interactive with realistic hunting scenarios including moose, deer, wild boar, pheasant, mallard, grouse, target shooting, clay pigeons and more.

Do the kids own any video game systems? I've had a number of parties at the house using a Nintendo Switch. The kids seem to gravitate towards Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart as they are multi-player. We've also done a lot of movie nights.
