ES tour plus or GC2

I am going to put a golf simulator in my garage and trying to figure out which launch monitor to go with. I live in Atlanta and will be going to test out the ES Tour next Friday. I have seen mixed reviews on it. Would like to know if it's a good monitor or if I should pay a little extra and get the GC2. Thank you

GC2, doesn't make sense to consider a device with mixed reviews at best vs something that is proven to work and last.

GC2 100% no question. I had one for many years I loved it costly but worth it IMO. I only sold it because gave up golf for awhile and plus moved and lost indoor space.

Skytrak or Mevo+ Vs GC2 I might see a tough decision, but the ESTP has so many compromises and quirks that it's easily the GC2.

Is the mevo + pretty accurate and reliable? Or will would go with gc2?

GC2 100 percent though my only caution would be that it is no longer part of the lineup and there is no way to know what support will be like going forward or parts when needed.

I'm going to go against the grain and say ES Tour Plus. I love mine. It's super accurate, gives good club data in addition to ball flight. It handles putting and chipping easily, it will read a flop shot well. It seems to be a perfect match for TG2019 which I would recommend getting it with the unit. Putting is superb in TGC. It has a learning curve because it doesn't come with a manual or a good website to give you the dos and don'ts of the device. It will miss read on a fat shot, it's audio-triggered and the fat shot triggers the cameras too early. I do that a lot and it's forcing me to fix that in my swing. Short wedge play, chips, and pitches have to be done in a pure optical mode called 'chip' for 80ft and shorter. E6 connect with this unit has a few bugs in putting that frustrate the hell out of me, but TGC2019 works really really well with this unit. It's an over-under IR stereo camera system with forward and rear stereo radar which is mainly used for ball flight speed and club speed. It really is for indoor sim use only, although you can take it to the range, it doesn't really give much data on its simple Lcd display. However, for the price, it does give some good bang for the buck. It also doesn't need a lot of distance to the screen 8ft and perhaps 4ft behind it.

Decent for what it costs (at the moment, anyway) but it's fiddly as heck. Unit placement, ball placement, ball orientation, ball label type, switching between different hitting modes for short game Vs long game, can misread fat shots, can misread because of certain turfs being IR reflective, not to mention dubious customer service and resale value.

It's a reasonable unit, but I'd rather recommend a Mevo+ at this price point or spend a tiny bit more for Skytrak, even though I kind of hate ST.

Funny, if the GC2 isn't overpriced and new to good condition, I would do GC2 as well. I do agree the ES TP is fiddly but when it hits, it's spot on. I would probably have a Mevo+ if I had the floor space But I play 8 feet from a 16x9 11ft wide image. Skytrak... the extra 100 bucks/yr just to run the thing well no thank you.

Hear you on the Skytrak recurring costs as well. Even if it's a negligible amount of money, the principle irks me.

GC2 is certainly a better unit than the ESTour Plus. I have both and for me the GC2 hands down is more accurate and has less mis reads. The ESTour plus is good when it reads, but can be finicky. Overall both are recommended and play a role depending on ones budget etc.

Gc2, because you can also take it to the range and just set it down and go..
