  • What is the best system for under $50,000?

In the market for a Simulator. I would be interested to know people's opinions on the various systems and whether spending more necessarily gets you a better system?
High definition golf seems to promote their product as the best in the market, thoughts?

Thanks for all the feedback, I will look into building a system like mthunts, looking forward to it
These things pretty reliable? I am in New Zealand so obviously repair would be an issue.

      Hi Bubba22

Out of interest what setup do you use?

I have a ProTee system with TGC, including the cameras and putting pad. I am also testing the Skytrak with TGC.

Do you have a video of how it looks setup?

Yes, would enjoy seeing a video Bubba22 of your setup!

Great question... 'Are they reliable?' From what I've read up here they seem to be - can others chime in on reliability (and service record) of the sensor units from various manufacturers?

I own a Protee and had it for 4 years now. Nothing ever breaks so service is great... but when there is a problem with the software, Protee is the best at getting things done. No one acts faster than Dennis. We get updates continually to improve how things work. You wont see that from any others out there. At least not at present. You might get updates here and there but not as many as we get. But every system has its own "I'm the best at". Service is Protee's claim to fame. And they sell a darn good simulator too.

To be honest I don't think you will ever crown one brand as king of the hill. To many people want to many different things from the system. And there is not one of them that has everything.

I agree with HD, Dennis has always been responsive and more than helpful with my PT system. I would also say that everyone wants something different so one man's criticism is another's mans praise.

ProTee service and response is second to none. Maybe that's "old fashioned", but I'll take that any day over promises that never materialize or arrive half-baked.

Bubba, please post a photo of video of what the skytrak with a sim looks like.

I'll try. Time is my enemy right now.

I own an Indoor Golf Centre in Brisbane Australia. I have two trugolf sims and a GC2 sim.....Stay away from the trugolf is my advice. Customer care is next to non existent. GC2 is good though.

                        Here's where I bought a season pass (1/2 price on Father's day):

It's a nice place, they just opened last winter, and I'm able to play until Sep 30 for $100! This will give me everything I want to know about the Foresight/GC2 system.

I'm also going to try out Richard's ProTee facility - about 45 mins from me, that way I'll have a comparison before I do my build. Richard's place is at:

Looking for a good system. I been using Swingbyte and ES12. Just wondering thoughts on the Optishot2 vs SkyTrak? $1300 diff between the two...space isn't an issue. Just would like the best bang for my buck. I'll be using it indoors...Not really interested in online play just the data, distance, direction, total carry etc.

If you're looking for something that's "purely" for fun. Optishot2 is acceptable. It's more of a video game than a true simulator.

If you care about the data at all, stay away from Optishot2.
