No internet…need a simulator….

I have a challenge with internet. I live in the country. Have only very slow DSL at the house. No internet in workshop where simulator is located. Appears the major sims (TGC, WGT, and E6) require an active internet connection. True? Seems like I read that E6 will work without fulltime internet but I can’t find it again. Anyone know the facts?

Haven’t purchased LM yet but looking hard at Skytrak. Same internet challenge.

You can use these sims offline. E6 will work but E6 cloud will not. TGC will work but you will be limited to a hundred or so courses.

Thank you for the information. Gives me hope! TGC or E6, which do you prefer?

E6 has better features for practice and is 4-5 grand. TGC has far better graphics and 90k courses for 1 grand. For my money, TGC is better.

It would be great if you could download courses to your favorites for offline play if the internet went down for any reason...

Getting internet to your shop is answered here. If you can get it to your house, the shop is easy.

Thanks. Good ideas on getting it to shop. However, his real question didn't get answered. "Any idea on the amount of data a round or a tournament may use?". I only have DSL and nothing else is available. DSL is very slow...will the SIMS run in a very slow environment or are they data hungry. Site for TGC recommends cable modem speed. I just don't have that available.
