  • Skytrak & GC2 - entering the club data?

when I used skytrak range, I had to enter the club number (and if recall did not go beyond 9I), yet when I demo'd a wedge at Golfsmith using a gc2 ( foresight I believe), it automatically calculates distance .... Although I presume you can enter golf club data, it doesn't ask for it.

Whilst I understand that it would be useful to review data, and know what club I used..., I was hoping that for pure range practice.... And even more so with gaming on TGC, that I could just select a club and hit, without having to manually input which club I was using.

.... In other words, if I hit a driver or a sand wedge, I was hoping the device would calculate all it needs to by capturing club face and ball at impact,...... Which it would seem GC2 does.

You do NOT have to select the club with skytrak. That's true for both the skytrak range and TGC.

Also, FYI, neither GC2 or Skytrak measure anything the club is doing...including the face angle at impact and swing speed.

Now a GC2 with the HMT is different...

        Ok... Thanks guys.

I will have to check when back home, but I'm sure that when I used the nearest the pin on skytrak I had to select club.

If not the case then excellent

I've been away for a while, so keen to get back.. Finish the cave and test out the skytrak properly.

As stated, you do not need to select club. However, if you're practicing on the range and want to review your stats online at a later time, then you select your club so it will give you the proper results.
