  • Golfzon vs other options

Hi all, a friend of mine is looking at installing a simulator into his club and is so far looking at the golfzon system. How does this compare price wise, as well as for user experience, accuracy, graphics and course options etc to other systems such as protee?

Any and all advise is welcome.

I've now also got him looking at a protee system... I tried out golfzon tonight with their mechanical base which was good but weird at first. Only projecting on to archery netting so not sure how much that affected the graphics.

Does anyone know if their system can work with TGC or are you limited to the golfzon courses?

Virtually no lag between shot and display which I liked.

Has anyone any experience with both systems that can comment?

TGC will not work with Golfzon. If there is anything being planned you could ask ProTee directly.

Thanks aja. Have you ever used the golfzon system?

I've used Full Swing and installed my own ProTee.

Don't know much about Golfzon, but it really isn't on the radar in the discussions I've seen on this forum.

I am guessing that the costs involved are different by orders of magnitude...

New, yes, but used, it's not far off a used protee system. I guess protee holds its value better. The only thing I see golfzon having that's unique, is the stance mat that auto tilts depending on your lie... even on the green. It is weird standing on a sim on a downhill lie... you just feel like anyone standing in front of you should move quickly as you expect to thin it off the toe and do some damage lol

If it's used then I would look at the software side of things as well as the mechanicals (tilting platform, etc.)

When I started looking into sims a few years back I came across an offer for used FullSwing systems. They came with the computer and software. Tip-off as to the usefulness (and age) of the set-up was that the computer ran Windows XP (Which is a great system - run my office systems on XP - but not indicative of a powerful processor running the latest software and graphics.)

If used - then maybe it's worth a look. I do see that there are some commercial Golfzon installations with a presence on the Web.
