Just coming to the end of my own build, hopefully in the next two weeks.

I'm in the UK and have a standard garage, 2.5m high and 2.8m wide (2.5m at back of the garage where the screen is).

I use SkyTrak and I also have JNPG.

For the last year, I've been hitting into a net, and I view the shot on a 42" monitor.

I've also had restricted space back from the screen due to an 'up and over' garage door.

The latest stage of my upgrade is as follows:

A hitting screen supplied by Golf Swing Systems, with the finishing velcro surrounds.

I bought a BenQTH671ST projector, which has the right throw range and high lumens (well researched). I've built my own projector box too.

The garage door is going to be replaced by a hinged access door. Thi is quite expensive but it is unbelievable the extra space that this gives me, which is also great for storage and ease of access.

I'm a short arse, just 5'5"ft, and I tend to use a 3 wood rather than a driver, so finally my height is an advantage.

I had previously installed additional power sockets and recessed ceiling lighting.

I'm also going to install a curtain which can be drawn across the screen if I wanted a quick hit, or if the kids want to muck around when I'm not there. This is just to preserve the screen.

I've enjoyed the planning stages and I'm not getting close to the interesting part of the built. Wish me well - exciting times.

Not exactly sure if I understand your garage door issue, but there are hi lift rails that could possibly be added to gain more height or depending upon which way your ceiling is pitched, you can have the garage door rails modified to follow the roof line. That is what i did and agree, you gain a lot more height. Good luck with your build.

Hi,

The rails stop me going further back and they block of storage area around the garage door. I decided to go for a normal hinged door access. It got rid of the rails, but it is also easier to access (mainly for my kids). Progress is being made - just waiting for the door to be done and to ceiling-mount my projector.
