3 metre wide sim room... who else has one?

I’m about to get a screen and enclosure for my garage which has plenty of height (4.5 metres) and length (4.5 metres). However, at only 3 metres wide, its disappointingly narrow (sigh). So inevitably I will have to setup off centre or just keep my driver and 3 wood in the bag which is no fun.

Anyone else have this kind of width and having a good sim golf experience? I’m 6’ 1” by the way. I’m also hoping that when my Par 2 Pro SQ screen comes it won’t have crazy bounce back or wear if I’m playing off centre....

My room is a lot wider but I hit off-centre due to ceiling height. Doesn't bother me a bit. TGC supports off center hitting although I don't use it. Hitting off center serendipitously means you can turn your screen over and double its life. There is more stress right at the screen edge so it might depend on your ball speed but my HQ screen has held up fine.

My soon-to-be sim room is 3.3m wide (11') and only 4m long (13'). I know it is doable but will be tight. I'm hoping the experience will be good. Garage is the backup plan if not. I've already purchased most of the components and the build will commence shortly after we settle in to the new house. I think FaultyClubs has it right (i hope) that the offset hitting has the advantage of multiple screen positions... since mine is a 10'x10', I'm actually thinking I might get to rotate it 4x... time will tell!

BTW does anyone know if JNPG supports off center hitting like TGC does? Also, what will sim play look like if not? Does that just mean that the image of the ball takes off from the middle of the screen instead of in line with the impact spot, or am i getting it wrong? (not trying to hijack your thread, Chris83d... I figure this might interest you as well)

My sim room is 3m wide, no prob at all (I am 1.76cm tall). Got the mesh screen fromm pa2pro, still good now.

Gnomike I use fr1 and I know offset can be adjusted in that. Not sure about jnpg but I would hope it has this feature as I know I will be playing it.

As I will be getting a finished sq screen I’m not sure if I can rotate it as I think only 1 side is for hitting/projecting onto.

My space is 9' 6" wide at the hitting area and I'm 6' tall. I'm offset - hit driver no problem - and friggin' love it.

My garage is 3.048 meters wide. I am 6 ft and always pull out the big stick. If I get crazy wild I might brush the drywall if I am to close. You being nervous will last about a day.

I hope you are right! It would really bite to have a sim finally and not feel free to play normally

You will know its there. But after a while you know what type of shots will hit the sides or in my case ceiling. My ceilings are only 8 ft.

Just wrapping up my simulator room build, it's 9' 3" (2.8 M), I'm currently hitting ≈32" from the side wall and it's working great. I bought one of Carl's screens, but it doesn't bounce back at all. The worst case is a hosel rocket or a hard pushed ball into the wall, not really a big deal because they still end up in the net area. I'll get some pictures of my build up soon.

For all my time planning and all the $$ spent so far, I can't help thinking how much it would suck if it is an unpleasant golfing experience. I think i'm more excited about this than a 4 year old at Christmas... I don't want to look into my stocking and --- aw, crap... I got coal!

This is my setup. About 10ft wife x 8 high. I feel comfortable hitting inside it.

How did you rig up your top (wedge) protection? It looks like you've got tracks or something with some fabric strung across?

Good catch. Yes had to rig up something to keep the wedge shots from going into the attic. The son would hit shots off the top of the screen and bounce off the ceiling.

Or just hit a flop over the EMT.

Its a moving blanket from Harbor freight. The brackets are left over from the garage door opener. Basically angle iron. I attached the moving blanket to the EMT. Then spread it out across the ceiling. Paracord is ran across from one side of the angle iron to the other. I have 4 strands ran across.

Works out pretty good. I've high hit off the screen and its killed once it hits the drape.
