hula73 Great setup. I noticed you appear to have the ebay GC2 protection, what do you think of it? Is it worth it or would you rather have purchased the foresight metal cage?

Also, how do you like the callaway pro caddie? I just got it so my kid can practice more. I keep 30 balls in there, but i notice that the balls seem to get "stuck" inside quite often. I think it would be great if that didn't happen so often.

I have the eBay “cage” as well. It works, but I put it away after each use so it’s a little annoying. I picked up the Foresight plastic protector and don’t use the eBay one anymore unless I have company over.

That room is way deeper than 16’. Is the 16’ to the steps?

Can you explain how you flushed up the carpet to the mat? Was the carpet pre-existing or newly laid?

Also hula73, where did you get the turf mat directly in front of your screen?

16 is Width. 12.5 is Height
Flush the carpet by getting different thickness floor boards...just trial/error and a lot of measuring, but yes the carpet was laid first then i did the turf stuff.

WPStangs I cant remember where i got the turf mat. It was online somewhere...it is a true putting mat though. I just put 2 cups in it so i can just practice straight putting. I can tell you that i really under estimated the time getting that mat as level as possible. So expect to put in a lot of time into that part. I didn't want a break in the puts at all.

I am glad you asked that my room is 17.5ft deep and I was wondering why I couldn't fit a bar stool in never mind any cinema seats, I just went out and re-measured

      Nice room.
Do you have a hdmi controller for switching between projectors? If so, what did you use?

yes all i use the Savant home control system. Its for my whole house. Very expensive FYI... you can do it way cheaper if just for one room with DYI stuff.

Cool stuff. That's a lot of screen to cover for the Sim how bright does it get? Also my golf Sim and soon-to-be theater portion came online this week (15x 9.5), where and how did you enter integrate the movie screen portion when you have the simulator impact screen to deal with?

Just a few more pics of construction. This was always in the plan of new house build. Took a lot to convince my wife. Finally broke her down

hula73 , we just moved into our home this past April and I had the ceiling after drywall made to 11 feet! Same thing had to convince the wife but it's so sweet. It was just installed this past Thursday. Preston at Par2Pro hooked me up. On my second swing in front of my wife with a large thwack of a 3 wood , I kid you not she said " I don't like it." LOL After it was in development for like two and a half years.

I popped for a pricey projector the Epson 7500 UNL, 4K up shift to get 6500 lumens. Going the 4K upshift route was the only way to get that many lumens, a brand new 4k you just can't get enough for the simulator. So far the effect on the video game picture is fair. but on a movie picture it's supposed to be quite remarkable. So I moved my resolution in the golf club to 2160. TGC 2019 can't come soon enough .

I bought a an elite screen for the upstairs short throw last spring. What size are you going to get for a drop down screen , a 200-inch was sold-out? I'll post some pictures when I get some tonight

dmsimm69 To be honest it is too hard to list all the products. 8x8 HDMI switcher. Main Savant controller. RA2 lights in whole house. Receivers, etc.
Just a lot of stuff. I think the initial parts and install for whole house was like 35K. I just made sure that system could also control this golf/theater room. There are waaaay cheaper ways to do it. I didn't want the hassle or have the time.

Do you play with anyone that shanks? I feel like the walls are a bit in danger but maybe you don't play with high handicappers ever.

I might have missed it but can you tell me how deep your room is to the steps. I see 16 wide and 12.5 height but I am trying to figure out how much to budget for depth when making the room. Thanks.

I have been contemplating a build in a new home. BTW, yours turned out great! I was considering the drop down in the basement to 11' as you did. Can you tell me if that is a sump pump you installed? This has been an item of concern for the wife and I. If so, how did you hide it and how did you get electric to it? I assume if the lot had the elevation it would not be necessary as they could daylight the drains? Any thing else to be considered with digging a pit in the basement? How comfortable was your builder doing this for the first time?

I have similar room dimensions and 11 foot high after drywall ceiling at my new house in the 28 by 23 dedicated room.

the basement is the lowest point in the house except for the sump pump which was lower still in that small area and obviously dug into the ground further and is the true lowest point in the house. It's behind a wall separate from the Sim room but they're close

                  Great setup!

Where's your center channel speaker? Is it behind the golf impact screen, if so are you worried about balls hitting it?

I have a theater room I'm thinking of converting to a dual purpose home theater / sim setup. The only thing I can't figure out is where to put the (relatively large) center channel.

                  Thanks
