I am building a simulator in my basement and have a question regarding mats. I plan to use Skytrack and have picked out a 4' x 4' mat for all clubs except the putter. My questions are, what is a good mat for putting and where is the proximity of both mats relative to Skytrak? Thanks.

I just started using my putter with Skytrak on TruGolf software. To be honest it leaves a lot to be desired. I put off my hitting mat. I still use it but it is frustrating. I am going to set up another area next to my hitting area to practice putting. I will keep putting on the sim but look at it as not practice and more of a game. If that makes since? In real life golf I practice putting but around here it seems every course has different speeds. So I wait to really practice putting until I get to the course I am playing.

I set 10’ gimmies and nicknames putts between 10-20ft as the “devils distance”, never know how many misreads I will get - sometimes 0 and sometimes 3-4. Anything longer generally read just fine.
TruGolf blames Skytrak for this. Just FYI.
I also found slightly better success by setting putting speed to slow, lining the golf ball logo facing Skytrak (about an inch behind the laser) and not using a putter with white in the head.
Other than the putting misreads, TruGolf is a fantastic package, built for sims.
